JV Out Of A Ride

he probably wants much more $$$,$$$ than skinner or benson and it requies a sponsor to pay for him.

Muggle, it's probably a matter of money and even if Skinner doesn't bring a sponsor, he will probably bring money. Talking to my friend who is an owner of two modifieds running here in Winston Salem, he told me that even at that level, a driver will have to bring on board a sponsor or at the very least, plenty of money.

So, the thought is that Skinner is 'buying" a ride. Jeez, if Skinner can afford to pay for a ride surely JV can do the same.

From what I have read over on Jayski it has more to do with driver experience. Mike Skinner and Johnny Benson both have it in stock cars and JV does not. I see it as a wise business move by Bill Davis. If you are going to put an unsponsored car on the track, you defiantly want that experience behind the wheel so the car will come back in one piece.

I think 24rainbow hit it. It's because of driver experience. Villenueve may have been a great open wheel racer but adapting to the 3500lb stock car has been a task for him. What BDR needs to do with him is race him in ARCA for a few starts so that he can get used to racing stock cars a little more because right now all he doe's out there is get knocked around...

Its probably just dollars and cents, JV wasn't able to bring the sponcer to the table and he got cut, its nat personel, its business. Duane

Wow, that didn't take long.

I hear Ward Burton could use a ride.

I'd imagine it was planned this way if he didn't make the race.

Remember there was a story about 1 month ago concerning JV trying to secure a sponsor - I guess it was accurate.

I don't know if Skinner would be the guy I'd choose to bring a car back in one piece, however. :)

Benson - being one of my favorites - never seemed quite agressive enough for cup but it looks like he's learning a few things in the CTS.

I wouldn't mind seeing either one of them in cup for the year.

Skinner, his replacement is not bringing a sponsor to the table either. Bill Davis has decided if he is going to race without a sponsor it will be with an experienced driver and not one that has been a little shaky on the track.
