The No. 07 team was found to be in violation of Sections 12-1 (Actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4-I (Race equipment used in the event does not conform to NASCAR rules); and Section 20C-5.10.1A: (Carburetor Eligibility: The Holley 4150HP Series, list number 80509, four (4) barrel carburetor is the only carburetor approved for the NASCAR-approved "Spec Engine". The carburetor must remain as supplied by the NASCAR-approved supplier (refer to sub-section 20C-4.1B)); Section 20C-4.1B: (No modifications to the carburetor and carburetor spacer - Must remain as supplied by the NASCAR-approved supplier: Unapproved modification to the carburetor metering block). The violation was discovered during post-race inspection on Oct. 27.
Ron Otto, crew chief of the No. 07 car, has been fined $5,000, suspended from NASCAR until the fine is paid and placed on NASCAR probation for the next NASCAR K&N Pro Series East event. No. 07 car owner, Randy LaJoie, and No. 07 driver, Corey LaJoie, have been penalized with the loss of 25 championship owner and driver points, respectively.

He had the points lead after winning the race Saturday at Greenville Pickens but is now third, and has a very small chance at winning the championship. Good, if anyone on here has ever seen the way he drives, they'd know he has it coming. I've never seen any driver as dirty as him. He was handed the win by NASCAR at Dover when he very clearly had a black flag coming to him before the green-white-checker restart. LaJoie is probably planning on wrecking Larson and Moffitt to win the championship that way.

It sucks that this is in Rockingham because I have to drive four hours each way this weekend, all for a 75 lap UARA race. I wish UARA and K&N were heading up the road to Altamahaw or Winston Salem for this.

All for a 75 lap UARA race? The K&N Pro Series race is 100 Laps and will be the highlight of the day for sure. I can't wait for that race.

We don't actually cover K&N. Actually, we don't do live UARA updates either so I have no clue what we're doing. :idunno:

Well just because you dont cover K&N doesnt mean it isnt gonna be an awesome race!

Hopefully the inaugural K&N race at The Rock is better than the inaugural ARCA snorefest was. It should be a good race.

The track's too big for UARA though.

I've saw the first two ARCA races at the track, and yeah, they were not great. The final Hooters Pro Cup Series race however was great. I don't think late models belong on 1 mile or bigger tracks, but hopefully the UARA show will be alright. K&N should be very entertaining though, I like ARCA, but they have a fair amount of boring races, but from my experience, the K&N Pro Series always puts on a great show.

I was happier to see Lajoie win at Dover rather than Wallace. Lajoie is rough and needs to calm down a little, but I would prefer one like him at this stage in his career. If he had Wallaces complexion he would be running Nationwide by now, he has the talent.
If only he had a Gibbs diversity bs deal like Wallace. I hope he puts Wallace out Saturday just for the hell of it.

I hope Wallace gets to Nascar soon , a black driver would sure take the heat off Danica.:D

Lajoie would make a better demolition Derby driver than a NASCAR driver. Has he ever ran a clean race? Darrell might get a lot if attention because he is black, but he has proven to be a realty successful driver. There have been other black D4D delivers in k&n(Marc Davis, Michael cherry) and they didn't do anything. Anyway, I doubt you'll need to worry about lajoie wrecking Wallace. I think Larson and moffitt are his targets

I heard Randy LaJoie on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio yesterday afternoon after this was announced. He was beyond pissed and was pretty much calling out NASCAR on this. He said that they have a total of two carburetors that they use for his son's K&N team. Each are stamped with a specific code, as I guess they all are. He said that this particular carb had previously been inspected and approved 6 or 7 previous times yet this is the only time that they found an issue with it. They were to have filed an appeal yesterday afternoon.

Whoops Nascar?

I could be wrong about it but Lajoie has won 5 races this year to Wallaces 1. Wallace is in a Gibbs car and aside from inferior talent there's no explanation. Even as a rough house driver, he still manages his equipment better and nets more wins. I welcome any talented minority, and Wallace meets the standard. But at this stage Lajoie is better, and he is the real underdog in comparison

He wrecked his way to 4 wins( Dover was McReynolds or Wallace's win). It doesnt take talent to just do a**hole moves every lap of every race.

Great point. Some change. Many don't but time will tell I guess. I'm not familiar with the younger LaJoie's driving style or his personality but maybe he's on of them that will change?
I like how he drives.

The kid sets his own cars up and races with passion. He isn't perfect and he does warrant some payback.

But he is so 1970s old school, I am not even a Ford fan, but he is doing some great things. He is a guy who will make or break totally on his driving skills
I like that.

There isn't enough space here to list all of the drivers who made a living causing wrecks when they started out . Eventually they learned to avoid causing wrecks in order to keep their rides .

They pulled his carb at Langley and it was deemed legal. He used the exact same carb at Greenville.

Based on what I've heard, Lajoie got screwed.

I have a real tough time trying to understand the logic of NASCAR doing this to screw Lajoie's team. Are you saying that because it the carb made it past inspection before and passed? Does that now make the modifications legal? Like most of these stories the only one that's doing the talking is the one that got busted. Take the appeal process another step like Double J's team did back in March. #48 used a similar defense and basically won their argument getting everything rescinded with the exception of the monetary fine. Maybe Randy needs to sell another seat or two and pay the $'s towards the next step in the appeal process and roll the dice? It's worth a shot.

I haven't heard Lajoie say anything different than every other racer who has ever been caught with an unapproved part .....Wasn't me . And because the inspectors missed something in the past doesn't suddenly make it a legal part . Like I said before ,I am all for the kid's driving style and I don't mind him pushing the rules envelope , but I say pay the fine and move on.

It is hard to say that because we don't have all the facts.
-Nascar could have screwed Lajoie
-Maybe a borderline tolerance was allowed before, but this time it wasn't. People are human and a borderline reading is a subjective thing even for people with integrity.
-Speculation but Nascar may have warned him prior, that he was given the benefit of the doubt, when a tolerance was pushed but next time the same graces wouldn't be given.
-Just as Nascar could have screwed Lajoie, the Lajoie camp could be misrepresenting the past inspections, or only disclosing some of the facts.
-From personal experience we always denied, denied, when we were caught cheating.

We will probably never know the full story.

It wasn't something out of tolerance. Holes were drilled into the Metering Block. The carb was altered. The rule states. Section 20C-4.1B of the NASCAR rule book states, in part, that there can be "no modifications to the carburetor and carburetor spacer; must remain as supplied by the NASCAR-approved supplier."

Ok that make sense, then the only question is were they allowed the other times or had they only recently been drilled?

For the most part I sure agree with that but I think it's more like, were they missed by the inspectors before or were they recently drilled. In any case it was outside the rules this time regardless of what occurred in the past so I don't see what it really matters. Who knows, maybe they've been getting away with it for a while but not this time. I still say the #48 defense is their only option if they decide to appeal further.

What I heard coming out of the Lajoie camp was them claiming Nascar was out to get them and it was a deliberate attempt by Nascar to show favoritism to another competitor . Talk about biting the hand that feeds you . If you don't trust Nascar then you gotta take your ball and go home.It isn't a battle that you gonna win man.
