BAM and Pizza? UPDATE: heard from a source very close to the situation Red
Baron Pizza has reached an agreement to sponsor BAM and Ken Schrader in the
#49 car starting in 2004. Red Baron Pizza sponsored Schrader in the past and
has been involved in NASCAR before.(1-15-2004)
UPDATE: from a Ken Schrader fan club emailing......: "As far as what is
going on with Kenny and BAM Racing....No, Red Baron is not going to be the
sponsor. I really wish I could say more, but with all the rumors that were
incorrectly generated past few weeks I can't say much. Yes, they have a
full-time sponsor (it is a good one), Ken will be the driver and BAM will
compete in the complete NEXTEL Cup season...Other than that...stay
tuned...they will be making the announcement sometime around February 3,
2004.
being told it will not be Red Baron Pizza specifically but it's parent
company Schwans who could be the sponsor.(1-28-2004)

Well, I hope they announce it soon. It can't be any worse than Carrot Stick last year. I had to wear his face on my shirt and cheer for the big blob of hair driving around the track all year. Talk about embarassing. :D

At least he had a sponsor, thats alot more than some other teams could say. Last year and this year, just ask Rousch and DEI.

Yeah, I know. I'm just glad I had something to complain about. B)

I'm glad Kenny is getting a full-time sponsor. I've always liked him. It just seems that his teams have been under funded. He tested well, so maybe he will be running better this year.

That is true, bow. Not everyone has a sponsor. I wonder why teams like DEI and Roush are having trouble attracting sponsorship. They have put proven product on the track, maybe their asking price is just to high.

Exactly what I was thinking NW, a proven cup winner probably has alot higher price tag than a second tier team.

Wishing Kenny all the best

On the other hand, if you sign with a proven winner, you're going to get a lot of tv exposure. Could it be that the 99's lack of being up front scared off potential sponsors? I don't think I'd want to gamble with 15-20 million dollars.

Firing Steve was the worst thing DEI could've done because they can no longer blame the perfomance of the car on the driver. I don't think anyone in their right mind would pay the kind of money DEI wants when they could run better with Tony Raines, Jimmy Spencer, Kenny Schrader etc. for a lot less money.
