NASCAR officials say Evernham Motorsports driver #9-Kasey Kahne will have to get medical clearance before he's allowed to test Tuesday at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Kahne talked with Dr. Jerry Petty, a Charlotte, N.C., neurosurgeon, on Monday and has a Tuesday morning appointment with Petty to get clearance. Kahne crashed early in the Aaron's 499 at Talladega Superspeedway Monday afternoon, and NASCAR officials did not allow him to return to the Nextel Cup race. "The medical people didn't think it would be good for him to get back in the car again," NASCAR spokesman Kerry Tharp said, adding that the driver of the #9 Dodge was too "shaken up" to return. Kahne went to the infield care center after the accident and walked to his hauler in the Nextel Cup garage. "I just got checked out, and everything is fine," Kahne said. Hermie Sadler, also involved in the lap 9 crash, got behind the wheel of Kahne's No. 9 when it returned on lap 85. By NASCAR rules, Kahne will get the driver points for the team's finish in the race.(SceneDaily.com)(5-1-2006)

Kasey took a hard lick but he seemed all there in his post-crash interview. Better safe than sorry, I guess.

They said on the tube that Kasey had been transported to a local hospital for observation, and the next thin I knew the tube guys said that Kasey had left the track in street clothes.
That was a hard lick, and I bet he has a whale of a headache!
GOODY'S anyone?

Shame on you Kat. No one should be saying any kind of goody's when he could have gotten seriously hurt. Here I always thought better of you.

What? Oh, you mean the headache powder. Hmmm, my bad I guess... ;)

I use "GOODY's" headache powders all the time, they work FAR better than the tablets do.

My neighbor developed a bleeding ulcer, they (DR's) think Goody Powder is the culprit. In all fairness, she is addicted to them.

Anyone heard any updated news on Kasey?

UPDATE: #9-Kasey Kahne will not test Tuesday at Lowe's Motor Speedway after a hard crash Monday during the race at Talladega Superspeedway. Kahne said he plans to get approval Wednesday to test on the second day of the two-day test in Charlotte. He said he will not go to see Dr. Jerry Petty, a Charlotte, N.C., neurosurgeon, until Wednesday morning. No one filled in for Kahne in Evernham Motorsports's #9 Dodge as the test on the repaved Lowe's Motor Speedway track got under way Tuesday morning. The #9 hauler did arrive at the track to get the cars set up.(SceneDaily.com)(5-2-2006

She sure did. The maddest she ever got at us was, left hotel for Speedway, arrived at track, realized she had forgotten goody powder, wanted us to turn around in all the traffic, smarted off to venders of drivers because they didn't sell goody powders. Thanks goodness, small store right down from Charlotte Speedway (Lowes)Tkj24 that use to post here some was with us.

Tylenol can cause liver failure if you don't follow the usage directions. Just as BC and Goody's powders can cause stomach ulcers because they aren't in pill form and therefore don't have any 'buffer' to prevent said stomach ulcers because of not following usage directions.

I believe that NW will back me up on this, but almost any medication taken orally is processed through the liver. "Goodys" will tear up your stomach and intestines a lot quicker than aspirin because, as Maj said, it's in powder form. Motrin and Advil can also contribute to ulcers. I should know cuz I have had ulcers for years, but OTC Tagamet works wonders!

I sure hope Kasey isn't going to need to sit out for a bit, and also that he LISTENS to the Doc if Doc says take it easy for a bit. He sure doesn't need another concussion now!

Tylenol and alcohol are not a good combination for the liver as well. Yeah, yeah I know, alcohol alone isn't good for the liver but I'll take a beer a day over 2 litres of coke/pepsi/root beer/ anytime.
