Tommy Baldwin [current crew chief on the #7 car] will crew chief a third Evernham Motorsports Dodge [#91?] at Homestead with Kasey Kahne driving. Kahne supposedly will drive the #9 full time in 2004. Bill Elliott will supposedly run a select number of Cup races in 2004, expect that announcement to come next week in Atlanta. Akins Motorsports, Kahne's current Busch Team [#38] and currently a Ford will work with Evernham Motorsports and Kahne will drive at most companion races in a Dodge.

Another Kahne rumor from Jayski
hear a hot rumor circulating around the garage area at Martinsville this weekend is that Ford and Dodge are working on a swap. Ford will release Kasey Kahne from his contract to drive for Evernham Motorsports. In exchange, Elliott will run one last season in a Ford in 2004 with a team to be determined. Unsure if it would be a full season or a partial season as had been rumored.

That would be stupid, I like bill and all but why would you trade an up and coming young talanted driver for an old retireing one. :cuckoo:

Bill can still get the job done! He just now cracked into the top10 in points.

That boggles my mind as well.

I for one still think Bill Elliott can get the job done even though there have been the new breed of drivers who've come out to dethrone him. He just made the top 10 in points and with the close fight from 8th on down, he can get a lot higher.

It's not up to the team owner, it's up to Bill, it's his decision alone whether he should hang it up or not. Despite his age, I dont think he should retire, he still has more races left to win.

I think he'd rather go out a winner... not the way Darrell Waltrip went out.

As of right now, these rumors could still be dismissed as just speculative until Silly Season proves otherwise however anything could happen.

We still have Homestead, the final race on the schedule for 2003 a track Bill won on in '01. It'd be fitting if that is to be his final race, that he wins it.

What would be great would be to see Chevy public enemy #1---Mr. Bill Elliott--in a no holds barred super competitive Ford product again! Now that would be cool!

And personally I wouldn't swap a truck load of Kasey's for one Bill Elliott.

Good Old Bill From Dawsonville is certainly one of the best of all time!!!

The current crop of Ex Sprint car Driver Success is wearing off on all the Nascar Cup Teams now a days. These drivers are impressive. Casey is a good pick just like J.J. Yeley is a good pick for Gibbs for a 3rd Winston Cup Team in 2005. Watch and see, these folks will be Good!
