I wasn't a fan before, but now that Kasey is going to Hendrick I guess I can be. ;) He sure ended last season with a bang. Never saw that coming. It will be interesting to see how he does in Hendrick equipment. He did pretty good in so-so cars with Red Bull.

I'm going to predict he wins two races next season and makes the Chase.

i don't know if he'll win 2 races but i think he'll make the chase.

I have nothing against Kasey and I know that he comes from a great short track and dirt background . I have to admit that I sometimes use him (unfairly) as an example of the one thing that I dislike about todays Nascar .That is , that ..to get a ride in todays Nascar ,you want to be young, short, slim , pretty , and media savvy .Add on talented and you have a chance . Tall , fat and ugly need not apply , regardless of talent . Oh , I know that you will cite a few exceptions .. but JD McDuffie and Buck Baker ,even Junior Johnson wouldn't get a ride in todays Nascar . Nothing against Jeff Gordon , but I believe that when he started winning , he literally became the prototype for the new drivers .Talk about cookie cutter tracks..

It will be interesting to see how Kahne runs at Hendrick. I do not think he will be a "championship contender" as several folks have stated on this forum...but I do think his performance will improve. Being in Hendrick equipment isn't a guarantee of improvement however...just look at the last driver that jumped over there with such high hopes...

So I guess this means Kasey has just doubled his male fanbase.

If someone needs to hate Kahne for being a "pretty boy" then be consistent and hate all the pretty's.
To single him out doesn't make sense.

I don't blame Gordon for the trend, it is more a case of racing going the way of the TV, and bigger corporate dollars. It was inevitable.

As for Kahne he is a good driver, I am also thinking two wins and making the chase.

The new Hendrick talent listing

1. Johnson
2. Kahne
3. Gordon
4. Juniors

We'll have to wait till the season gets going before we know anything. The #5 car hasn't done much the last couple of years so maybe KK can do better with it.

I thought Kasey had lost the competitive edge, but her sure proved me wrong. Having the same, very talented, CC for so long will mean yet another perennial chase contender will lose his spot. I believe Kez and Kasey are the new boys in the top 15 chase drivers. New blood always shakes things up, and the turnover will continue for the next few years.

Looking forward to seeing Kasey with HMS!

I think he will do well in 2012!

With HMS finishing sixth, seventh and eighth this year, I just do not see Kasey doing much better next year.

No offense to the Kahne fans but HMS was supposed to be Earnhardt's saviour as well and we all know how that's working out.

6 Jimmie Johnson 2304
7 Dale Earnhardt Jr. 2290
8 Jeff Gordon 2287

Junior ran well and he's second in standings of the Hendrick group, can't complain about that.

Yes I know there was a Fourth Hendrick driver I just did'nt feel like scrooling that far down the list ( Mark please retire.....again )

Kasey will do pretty well with HMS, I think. He's had all year to mentally prepare and it would be hard to imagine that he and Mr. Hendrick have not had periodic conversations regarding the direction of the team.

I think he will hit the track running and give Joonyer, Jeff and Jimmie a little spirited competition.

We all know that Joonyer is gonna be distracted (again) with the whole Miss Thang in NNS stuff, Jeff is gonna still be consumed with being overshadowed by his "employee" and Jimmie/Chad will probably try too hard to regain what they lost.

Kasey comes in with no expectations, no history and no real pressure. He can fly under the radar for the first part of the season while he and his "new" CC formulate a plan to make a run at The Chase.

Look for KK to shine in the 5 ride!

I don't understand what exactly you mean here? Do you think that Kasey won't be trying to win any races till later in the season ? Then ,at some point,
he will make his move and win a bunch of races?

He won't exactly be 'under the radar' driving a Hendrick Motorsports Chevy.

I think he'll do well though after he gets comfortable with his new team.

I predict he will be a constant top 15 - 20 car, with few wins....

That's not what I meant at all. Of course he is gonna TRY to win... Gordon is gonna be doing all of his 20th anniversary stuff for HMS, Dale is gonna get lots of attention due to the Danica connection and Jimmi/Chad is Jimmie/Chad. Kasey has the least amount of pressure and/or attention of the 4 drivers so he can keep a lower profile early in the season.

I agree with what you say here man, however, I think Kahne will have more attention on him than he has had the past few years. He is going to HMS which means there is the expectation that he will run better. That is not always the case, *cough* Junyer *cough*....but it is still the expectation for pretty much anyone who goes there...

I love the Hendrick fans who seem scared that their drivers are gonna get shown up. They've never had to deal with the Hurri-Kahne in top equipment, it scares them:D

Here's what I foresee happening; if Kahne does well at HMS, his detractors will say it's because he's in the best equipment in Nascar. If he flops, his fans will say he's getting 4th rate equipment.

IMO, Kahne is a pretty good driver and there's a bunch of drivers out there who'd take 4th rate HMS cars in a second.

especially in today's economy.
