I watched only portions of Sunday Night's NBC NASCAR coverage and at one point NASCAR penalized Kasey Kahne for speeding. It was Bill Weber and Wally Dallenbach's simultanious beliefs that Dale Jr. should have been penalized as well for speeding (as he was clearly going FASTER than Kahne) and for pushing Kahne to higher speeds. I noticed whenthey crossed the commit cone, Junior was two or three arlengths behind Kahne and just inched closer and closer to him.
This to me represents a double-standard by NASCAR to have penalized Kasey Kahne and not addressed Dale Jr.
Wally Dallenbach generally seems to agree with NASCAR on their calls and often brings perspective to a different side on a controversial decision but even he seemed to think that NASCAR just blew it.
It doesn't surprise me anymore when Dale Jr. and Jeff Gordon catch cautions at the right moment to get the lucky dog or get off unaddressed when violating a rule but this one really shocked me.
Anyone else's thoughts?
