Takes all kinds of drivers to make up this series. Heck, if we start removing drivers like Khane and drivers below him because of their record, we'd probably only have a dozen or so drivers out there each Sunday. Man, you guys are tough.

Someone asked me the other day about my expectations for Kahne this season. I told him that I expect the chase, absoultely no reason why he shouldnt be in the chase this year, and on top of that I expect him to finish top 10 in points. He seemed on a roll coming off last season in lame duck spot, i think he can finally focus on racing and do well at hendrick.

That's the season I was talking about, buck. Aside from 2006, Kasey Kahne hasn't really done much. Even then, Kasey had SIX DNFs in 2006 whereas guys like Kevin Harvick only have one or two DNFs a year.

If Kasey doesn't make the Chase, I would absolutely blame it on the equipment before the driver. Mark Martin did great things in 2009 and they took his entire championship contending team away and sent it to Junyer. Mark's been winless ever since. Do they really expect us all to believe Mark forgot how to drive overnight?
The thing I'm afraid of for Kahne is, if he contends for the championship and knocks down several wins (and that'd be good for the sport since he has a huge fanbase), Hendrick taking Kenny Francis away and shipping him off to the #88 car. In 2009, they had three cars contend for a championship and dragged Mark Martin down to help Jr. In 2010, they only had one car contend for a championship. Last year, they dragged the entire organization down to help Junyer.

Jeff Gordon even on the downslide of his career is still far more talented than Kasey Kahne. JJ is so much better than KK it can't even be accurately measured. Jr would be the only one close to KK.
It's nothing against KK but saying he's more talented than Jeff Gordon and JJ is absurd.

Kasey's only five years younger than Jimmie. And I highly doubt Jimmie's done yet.

I've had two days off in a row and it's been pretty quite on here.....stir stir stir I really do think Kasey's a very good driver and now that he's in Good ( Chevrolet ) Equipment I'm looking for him to Kick Azz this year

Kasey Kane is another pretty boy but he can really drive. He will finish top 5 this year (his first year in quality equipment) and no, Kenny Francis won't be going anywhere else, unless it is Kasey's request. So everyone may be right ., there is room in the top five for all of the Hendrick cars.

Francis may stay with Kasey, but that entire team is an engineering program for the 88. If they win races, their best equipment and their best crew members go to the 88. I personally think Chad Knaus will end up with Jr if JJ doesn't win the championship in 2012.
Rick Hendrick compromised the entire organization in 2010 to help Jr. It was stupid to dismantle Mark and Jeff's teams when they finished second and third in points. Anyone who thinks Mark forgot to drive is naive. If he still had Gustafson on the pit box, he would've found victory lane at least six more times in the past two seasons.

The sad part for Kasey is, if he ends up being treated the same way as Mark Martin was, he'll be "used goods" and his Cup career will be over.

The thing that makes the Hendrick program great , and sets them apart from the other programs is that they are engineering programs for each other . The information they learn from each lap turned is shared amongst the other teams immediately . That makes four sets of engineers ,drivers and crews competeing against a bunch of one car teams. Tremendous advantage .
