Kentucky Nationwide

Andy, isn't it past your bed time? I knew this would tickle your fancy. Now we'll see how good Joey really is.

Hey, I didn't curse him or anything. If I could do that, he wouldn't have any wins since Richmond. :D

We'll see how good he is when he beats a car that doesn't have 50 more horsepower than his.

Kyle manned up and took responsibility for once.

Maybe there is a glimmer of hope. ;)

I call it as I see it, and that time Kyle manned up.

HISTORY!!!

Joey Logano wins the Meijer 300 at Kentucky! :D

Congratulations Joey Logano! :beerbang::beerbang::beerbang:

Congratulations, Joey!! Nice Job! Congrats to the whole team.

Kyle was rather blunt about not racing next weekend. I guess his desire to win all 3 series has waned a bit after the last two weeks. Awwwwwwwww... poor baby! :D

Nice run. This kid has a future ahead of him.

They said the same when David whats his name won this race like two years ago....and look what hes done since.

I did not watch but a few early laps of the race, and really dont know that the hell was going on then, was messing around on a computer.

But the difference is Joey had done great in the 3 races he has been in. David got lucky in one race and by accident hit on a good setup.

I remember when David won that race 2 years ago and I got my head ripped off for not saying he was good enough....look whose laughing now!!!!:D:D

Perhaps he isn't anxious to be on the same track as Hornaday too soon.

How about the interview with Mike Wallace? When asked about these kids getting wins so early in their careers, he said that it wasn't a surprise. He talked about the equipment they are in. Kids with half decent talent can step into a great car and do some good things. Kids with good talent can do great things. Just for fun, what would happen if they put any of the top ten drivers in the truck points into that #20 car? Any difference? I doubt it. I'm not taking anything away from Lagano, just saying that these days, kids have the chance to start their careers in the best of equipment. Those old days of paying your dues before you got a decent ride are over and done for. But the question now should be, something we've heard since the late 90's, "Is this the new Jeff Gordon?"

Yes, Logano is the real deal.

Unfortunately, this isn't a standard that's going to apply to all racers. Logano proved himself in everything. But drivers like Alli and drivers in Maryland and other areas that don't host NASCAR venues have to prove themselves before getting a ride.

It's hard to argue with instant success, but it may also be giving a false impression of how good these drivers will be over the long run.

very well said, I'm not gonna knock the kid he must of showed JGR something to put him in there equipment but what would impress me more if he was racing in a single car operation let's see how good he is then. That 20 car is stout and it takes a hell of a man to wheel it, so let's hope they don't push him to early in the cup series. IMO he should go for the nationwide cup next year and race some trucks and the following year stay in nationwide and run some sprint races in 2010, but if tony leaves that plan might get scrapped. I can see them putting joey in the 20 if tony leaves.

Not to be one of the crazy logano fans thats writing him off as the best already. I am a fan of his however. But he was winning as a single car operation back in the hooters pro cup series. Shortly after he started winning i believe is when joe gibbs came along and decided to start putting logano in his equipment.

Mark Martin was throwin' a little cash his way and I believe turned him to JGR, and equipment is the key. There are tons of very talented individuals around that will never get there Cristal ring, whether it be tenacity or boldness or just proper funding at a local level. I think Greg Biffle is a prime example of this, if Benny Parsons wasn't announcing winter heat, the Bif would still be making chassis in Wa. Good talent and resourses are the key. Brian Vickers is an other example, with out his dad's money and connections, I doubt Vickers would have ever seen a cup car. Anyway, congrats to Lagono for his win, and I hope he is the next Kyle Busch, it good for NASCAR!!

Ya, right!! Hasn't bothered him up to this point, besides, I believe they were speaking of the Nationwide series, not the Trucks. If you recall, he said they were going to try and wrestle the championship from him (Hornaday). And I'm just guessin' here, but to do that, he'd have to race him!! Duane

I hope Joey Logano doesn't become the next KY, instead the next Jeff Gordon.

I really used to like KY a lot, but my opinion has changed over the course of the season.

Granted, minus Danica, Ashley and Laurie (who won the President's Cup this weekend), my drivers aren't doing a whole lot, but they're also not out there wrecking cars just for the hell of it.

I wish KY wouldn't have run away to his Busch race so fast, I can't wait to see Hornaday whip his ass. :D

Let me see, how can I put this eloquantly, Hornaday is a jerk, he's always been a jerk, and he'll always be a jerk. He's a me first, self centered weasel. This however, has nothing to do with the fact that he is a heck of a wheel man, and has been for most of his life. You won't see Hornaday do anything but race Kyle extra hard, just like he always does. Duane

Everybody's a jerk except KY, right?

Ron Hornaday isn't the first to complain about KY's driving style or off-track attitude. It seems Wild Thing's pissing off A LOT of well-respected drivers these days.

Why should ky care who he pisses off? 10 years from now his record will be Better then theirs anyway...

Kyle's record is going to be better than Jeff Gordon's record?

Where, pray tell, have you ever seen anytime that I said Kyle wasn't a jerk??

There pissed off cause most of them can't catch him!!

I like Kyle just fine, his attitude sucks a little but sometimes mine does too, so who am I to judge.
