Man, if there was one guy everybody could root for it would have to be Kerry. I sure hope he finds the right ride and team. I just can't figure an apple falling that far from the tree but he also did not get the same input growing up as Jr. from the legend.

Having 6 children of my own I have to tell you. Some off them apples fall and roll all the way down to the creek and get swept away in the current! And a few of them land next to the trunk... One never knows.

I don't know that Kerry has the appitude or the talent to be much more than a mediocre driver. Dale gave him chances, but he just didn't seem to take to racing like Dale Jr. did.

Being the son of a champ doesn't automatically make you a good driver. I think most everyone will agree that Kyle Petty has never measured up to what his father was. There was a time when we thought he might break out and become a great driver, but that never happened. Adam was the one who everyone thought would become the next great Petty. Kerry has had more chances given than the normal everyday guy who is looking for a ride, but he has never been able to show that his ability is good enough to win. I've read in the past that his half sister, Jr's sister, Kelly, was a better driver than Kerry. Who knows and who cares. If Kerry doesn't make it in any series, it sure won't be because he never had a chance.
