Kerry Earnhardt out of Busch ride
By DAVID POOLE
The Charlotte Observer

FitzBradshaw Racing announced Monday that it will make a "driver substitution" for Saturday's Busch Series race at New Hampshire, with Tim Fedewa driving the No. 12 Chevrolet in place of Kerry Earnhardt.
"Kerry has proven he is a strong driver," said Armando Fitz, the team's co-owner. "But the team is simply not gelling right now. And if we want to win, we need to gel."

Fedewa, who has four career wins in the Busch Series, has been the team's spotter. Fitz said the team has not decided how long Fedewa will stay in the car. "That depends on the level of success we achieve," Fitz said.

I don't really know how i feel about this. I really like Kerry and he's very nice, but he has performed horribly. But Casey Atwood after getting a top 10 in his first start in a team car to Kerry, has not performed any better since. So is it the equipment? I hope Kerry can get back to doing something fun, because it couldn't have been too much fun running midpack and wrecking every week. I've always liked Tim Fedewa and am happy that he has a job now.

I did
me too

as soon as they hired casey atwood i knew Kerry's days were numbered. I thought they would have at least kept him until the end of the season.

What if Kerry Earnhardt were to go to the #1? That would be great for DEI, because then It would be the Earnhardt brothers racing in Dale Earnhardt Inc.

Steve Park may have wrecked less in Winston Cup then Kerry did in the Busch Series. That would be a scary sight if you ask me.

ive heard from a number of people close to the Earnhardt's....that Kerry doesnt want help from the family....he wants to prove he can do it on his own.

i think he needs to just try to go to DEI or maybe ask his brother if he could get a start or two for Chance II....suck up the pride bro

he should, the only time ive seen him run good was in the ARCA car that Dale Sr. put together for him.

This was not a surprise. As soon as people started denying that a change was going to be made, the handwriting was on the wall.

Kerry just didn't get the driving genes. I hoped it would work out, but it didn't.

He should either suck up the pride or ask for tips on keeping his car on the track in one piece.

No surprise at all, I had a post about 2 months ago that he might be out of that ride. I think you'll see him in a DEI ride either in Bush or Arca or both.

No big surprise.

I can see him running a few races in the chance2 car, but no a full time ride with DEI.

It really doesn't surprise me a lot. But I hate it. I like Kerry. But if you don't preform you get the ax. That's buisness. :(

The only surprise to me is that it took Fitz-Bradshaw so long to let Kerry go...it's about a year over due. But I guess having the name Earnhardt in your car brings in the sponsorship $$$. Unfortunately for Kerry, that tea party is finally over.

Good point but I am still surprised Earnhardt is out of a ride. Not that Kerry was impressive, but NASCAR has taken other less than impressive drivers and made superstars out of them.Wonder what REALLY went wrong in this case?
I suspect more went on than we will ever know.

Maybe you can't have more than one Earnhardt superstar. And Jr. just happens to have the name Dale. :D

If he was only as good as his dad he must hear that often

I feel bad for him in a way
