Alright, our ranks seem to be growing...I wonder if we should get a Recruitment Chairperson to help expand our strength of numbers. I guess we should discuss all things Harvick, huh? Does anyone know any interesting facts "fun facts" if you will about Kevin? I don't know, just trying to get it started. Is there anyone we need to blacklist? (drivers, i mean) You know, once the season starts up again, we might need to jeer at some people who cross Kev...well, I'm out for the night.

Our ranks are growing, I can tell ya that. I have a feeling that we'll get lots of members in the future.

If you guys have friends, acquaintances or family that are interested in joining, forward them over to our fan club, it would be more than appreciated. As of right now However I would prefer if we stay away from recruiting on different forums (example: Kevin Harvick's Official Message Board, Racebuds, Racing Press, NASCAR.com) unless you really know people on there that are interested in joining.

I've got a whole lot of things we can discuss today:

- Tony Stewart driving for Kevin Harvick? That's right, in the Busch Series at least, 2002 NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart will drive the #29 Kid Rock Chevrolet for Kevin Harvick, Inc. at Lowes Motor Speedway on Memorial Weekend.
-While we're at it, we might as well talk about RCR's recent surge at the superspeedways, I know we discussed this in the old thread, we might as well bring it up again
-The 2004 Ford, how big of a threat will it be for the 2004 Nextel Championship?/ How will the abandonment of Pontiac help GM in strengthening the Chevrolet teams for another manufacturers duel in 2004?

That's all I can think of, any new topics just suggest em and we'll discuss em.

Tony Stewart driving for Kevin in the Lowes Busch race? That's good, Tony can get a victory for himself and one for the team as well. He nearly got one earlier this year driving for Dale Earnhardt Jr. at Michigan; of course, Kevin won that race ^_^ .

While we are on the subject of the Busch Series, Rick Viers, the crew chief for the #2 ACDelco Chevrolet will move to the crew chief duties of the #21 Reeses Chevrolet while Butch Hylton, the crew chief who guided the #21 to the owners championship will move to the #2 ACDelco car.

Of course, that ACDelco Chevy has seen a lot of success. :D

Butch really set those cars up good for Kevin Harvick and Johnny Sauter, Rick did a pretty good job with setting up Hornaday's also.

I dont really understand this move, I think the teams are really good the way they are, I guess Richard will probably devote as much as he can towards a Busch Series driver championship.

I also think the change was unnecessary, both the teams were doing good really. Maybe Childress knows something we dont know. :idunno:

Also, what does everyone think about this proposed 10 race playoff system? Basically the NASCAR world is divided over it, thoughts anyone?

My opinion is, if it isnt broke don't fix it. There were a group of drivers who were coming on strong in the latter going of the season, Jimmie Johnson for example, cut Kenseth's lead down to 90 points by the end of the final race. Thats pretty good, speaking Kenseth has had only three finishes of 40th or worse in the 2003 season. Look at the points races between the Busch and Truck Series, in the final race in both series, about 3 or 5 of the drivers in those series could've taken home the championship.

Gollum: The Foreign Minister is signed in and accounted for. :D

You have a winning combo. with the 21 car. So why change? Maybe he wants to bring the 2 car up to be top dog again. That was the one that Kevin won the last championship in.

Definitely, RC will be focusing most of his efforts towards the drivers championship. He'll probably be seeing weaknesses and strengths and probably try to evaluate the situation as best as he can and decide whether any more crew swaps are necessary.

Before we steer too far away from Kevin, there will be a lot of full-time Nextel Cup drivers who will still be running for the Busch Series Championship in '04. For example, Johnny Sauter, Kasey Kahne and Greg Biffle. If these guys had to go to someone for advice, look no further than Kevin Harvick who conducted one of the greatest NASCAR Winston Cup rookie of the year campaigns while managing to win the Busch Series championship in 2001. :D

I really appreciate Kid Rock getting involved in NASCAR, what's cool is that it just seems to be on his own accord, not in conjunction with the Chevy Rock N Roll deal. In an age when cars seem to lack sponsorship, I think more wealthy individuals (ie: musicians, actors) should get involved, especially fans. Plus, I bet it'll have a rockin' paint scheme.

It'll be one good die-cast to pick up as well! I havent seen any images of the car yet, hopefully when I do, I'll post them up.

What does everyone think of the job Todd Berrier did this season? He replaced Gil Martin after a few races, at which point, the 29 team was 18th in points, however as the season went on, Berrier helped get the team to 5th in points with 1 win, 11 top 5s and 18 top 10s.

In the 2002 season, the championship run the 29 team was expecting never materialized. Richard Childress experimented with many different things to help his ailing teams, the 29 team swapped crews with the 31 team, thus crew chief Kevin Hamlin went to the 31 and Gil Martin to the 29. Martin helped the 29 team get the win at Chicagoland and tried to make the most out an already downtrodden season. They finished 21st with only 1 win. Seeing this as only a sophomore slump, Childress thought nothing of it until the start of the 2003 season when the team didnt really hit it off well at first. At which point, the 29 team was 18th in points.

However Todd Berrier came in and replaced Gil Martin, here you have someone who's won a Busch Series championship with Kevin Harvick and knows how its like to actually work with him. They have that crew chief-driver relationship which helps win championships. It started with Berrier helping the team to a 2nd place finish at Talladega, then they quietly worked their way through the Winston Cup standings, being 7th in points by Daytona. Eventually came summer when the 29 team was on a roll with a bunch of 2nd place finishes and top five finishes and then eventually the win at Indianapolis. They got as high as second in points, eventually going to fifth in the final standings.

With Harvick and Berrier paired up again, the 29 team should be the ones to watch in the 2004 season. They really dominated in the Busch Series, I think we might see that same success in the Nextel Cup.

The team was very consistent when Berrier came in, completing nearly 99% of the laps in the second half of the 2003 season. There are a lot more wins that await Harvick, Berrier and the 29 team, it'll be great to see what they do in '04!
