When Kevin Harvick won the Sams Town 300 by a close shave over Kasey Kahne, we all thought the 29 team would be the ones to watch during the UAW Daimler Chrysler 400. They were, Kevin and the team marched to the front in the early going, going as high as second, and then later on taking the lead off of the pit stops and battling with Matt Kenseth for the lead.

Until.. whether it was the fuel calculator or a fuel leak or something, Kevin ran out of fuel with 2 laps to go thus ruining their chances at proceeding higher in the points.

Well, he ran out of fuel, but it was a valiant effort by the 2003 Brickyard 400 winner.

I met 2-Time Daytona 500 Champion Sterling Marlin at the Sunset Station Casino and got some stuff autographed by him, he was a pretty nice guy.

Did I forget to mention I got Kevin's autograph on my hat and got to talk to him? :D Pretty sure most of us have talked to him or got stuff autographed but it was hell getting through the big push by the fans surrounding the souvenir trailer, as there was no way to organize it (i.e tickets, or a line). This was after the Busch Series race. Kevin was a nice guy, he seemed laid back, relaxed, excited and stayed until almost every fan near the trailer got their autograph.

Sorry to brag a little more, but I'm still very excited! Did I also forget to mention I got a 1/24 2004 GM Goodwrench Chevy Diecast autographed by him too?

Then the next day right before the UAW Daimler Chrysler 400, I got to talk to and get my 1/64 Valvoline diecast autographed by current Nextel Cup Rookie Scott Riggs, I also got a pic taken with him, I'll post that as soon as I get the chance to get the film developed. I also got my 1/24 Cingular Wireless 2003 Diecast autographed by Robby Gordon, winner of 3 Nextel Cup races and one of the most talented drivers on the circuit.

It was a great weekend for me all in all, well, enough of me, sorry to brag but I'm still excited and literally off my seat, even though I got little sleep :D . What'd you guys do?

I'm really jealous of you man, I havent met Scott yet but I did meet Kevin a couple months back.

Mustve been a great weekend for you Happy.

Yes, except I got sunburned and my older bro's Budweiser Dale Jr. Jacket was swiped from him. Anyway, I'm looking forward to Atlanta next week where Kevin won in 2001.

No not yet, I'm praying it'll be returned but chances are it won't. I wore my Goodwrench Jacket throughout the whole race and my bro took his jacket off and planned to put it back on but I guess he got it swiped when we were walking out of the speedway. That's why if you bring any important stuff to the speedway, wear it, or keep it close to you. You don't know what kinds of evil people will be at the speedway.

Happy, I guess I've been fortunate. When we go to TMS, we usually go to our seats and drop off our stuff first and then go out to the midway. Although, we don't just leave things out for them to grow legs and walk away, we keep them in a backpack. Sorry to hear about your Gatorade being confiscated, but when the track says no coolers, that usually means you can't bring any food or drink in. Cooler or not. Glad you had a good time, and it's great that you got to see and speak to some of the drivers!

I don't never take a bunch of stuff with me to the track. I take a camera and a jacket. That's about it. I don't like to keep up with it. :D

About the Gatorades, it really sucks that they were confiscated because when I wanted to buy water or soda, it was like $4.00 to purchase one. I think LVMS did this to purposely make sure that the vendors profited because I guess the vendors were on their case about people bringing their own food or drinks. Luckily, one of the gate checkers, the one that rips the ticket stub noticed I had four coca-colas in my backpack at the bottom but he let me go and let it slide, he showed sympathy and he didnt particularly like the vendor prices either.

When my brothers jacket was stolen, I guess he must've been carrying it when someone just passed by and took it off his hands. When I asked my brother if he had it, he said he did. I at at 2W, my bro at 2B. After the race, we met at another section of the track and we decided to sit down in a different area of the grandstands, 2T I think it was, and I didnt see him drop it, just to make sure we asked fans that sat at 2T if there was a jacket laying around there, they said no, and theyve been watching that place ever since the day started so my conclusion is that he had it swiped from him. I'm pretty sure when we walked from 2T, he was carrying it with him, my conclusion remains that he had it swiped from him, someone mustve passed by and taken it. Luckily, that was the only thing that was stolen.

We kept all our other stuff in our backpacks that we carried, we carried our backpacks at all times. It's the best thing to do, with a backpack you know that things will most likely never be stolen, I suggest anyone as soon as they purchase merchandise to put it in a backpack or if they take off their jacket to keep it very close to them, or put it in their backpacks.

It couldve been worse, people have lost wallets, one man I talked to near the lost and found lost $500.00 in merchandise so that had to suck for him, another woman nearly lost $200.00 and a scanner until it was returned to her. The woman manning the lost and found section said that there were car keys, wallets, high-valued cameras, money, merchandise and other things. I guess if I just look at the big picture, this isnt so bad.

In conclusion, it saddens me fellow fans of my favorite sport would do this kinda thing, unfortunately, someone told my bro on another message board that when you stuff 150,000 people into a stadium-like atmosphere that its real easy for thieves to steal stuff when people are in the heat, its easy for them to steal when people are getting their kids dressed or getting stuff and leaving the speedway. It really really saddens me.

I'm here! We gonna see some pics of the race, Happy?

Sure man, this photo may have been posted to death, I took it right about when Kahne and Harvick got to the line, just before they did. I just looked into my camera and flashed it and off it went.

I didnt know who won the race until I looked up at the scoreboard.

Picture is now with my credits on it.

Some good pictures there Happy.

Again, my condolences on your brother's jacket being stolen man. Never had anything stolen in all the years I've gone to races, but then again, you never know.

We had an ice chest full of food stolen from underneath our motorhome awning from the campgrounds at Talladega.

GOOD NEWS GUYS !!!!

Someone came over to our house and returned the jacket, with everything inside, luckily, inside was a ticket with the name and address. I thanked the man who returned it.

How my brother lost it in the first place I dont know.

Thank the good lord there are people out there like the man who was able to return the jacket.
