Kevin Harvick

This Buds For Me

I’m a little surprised that no one else here as started a thread on Kevin Harvick lately with all of the news surrounding him and his RCR contract. What do you guys think about Harvick putting RCR on notice, that they must step up or he’s out the door? And what do you think of him publically calling his team out Saturday night.?

Harvick’s head is too big for that race car, he’s only had one year that was worth a damn and that was his first year. I personally think that a lot of the problems that RCR are having are because of Harvick and maybe a few of the other drivers. If you notice, Harvick’s good year was his first like I stated above, well who’s cars were those? Those cars of course had been designed for Dale Earnhardt, as he had helped set them up…Well here we are 4 years after his death and Harvick has created a ton of problems at RCR and “his cars” aren’t running well. There’s a lack of communication between the driver and the crew and I think that’s the problem at RCR, I think it all starts with Kevin Harvick. Being a Dale Earnhardt fan my entire life, I think very highly of RCR, and it pisses me off that a guy that hasn’t really done anything in the sport is putting a team like RCR “on notice”.

Who else will step up and say anything? The tire changer? Jack man?

Harvick does let his ass override his mouth sometimes, but I don't think he went above and beyond Saturday night. And he does have a point about the engines.....they must have listened to him a little since they got another builder. But obviously there is still a problem with the cars and something needs to be said and done about them.

If memory serves me, this kind of thing has happened before at RCR. Dale wasn't one to air his concerns about his team publicly, but word got out. RCR was way behind the curve, and DE wasn't happy about it.

David Smith of RCR even said that they had gotten complacent and lost the edge.
Seems to me it was in the mid-90s --- 96 or 97 --- somewhere in there.

Kevin does say things, but it seems to me that some of those things have merit.

Geez, I think that Childress has been around a little more than the kid with his foot in his mouth. Tearing a team apart on TV is not my idea of "building" teamwork. Don't forget, it is RCR. Not KHR.

Well well well, so you think that it was in reality Dale Earnhardt who made the first year for Kevin. I might ask the same about Jamie McMurray, afterall, his only win came when he sat in the car driven by Sterling Marlin.

I know that many people dislike Kevin, but I believe it's for purely personality reasons. That's fine and many people make their decisions on such things as personalities etc. But to say that he isn't a good enough driver to have a ride at RCR is rediculous. Who at RCR is higher in the points?

I won't chide anyone for not liking a particular driver, but when it comes to the big times, all of those guys are good enough to drive for anyone.

buck, take a good look at my post one more time if you will please....never did i say Harvick was not good enough to drive at RCR...my point is that i think Harvick is to blame for some of whats going on at RCR, Harvick was driving cars that were set up for DE when he did good...over time when cars were adjusted for him, the entire RCR organization has gone down hill....i personally think there is a lack of communication, and Harvick did nothing to help that by calling his team out on national TV...Harvick is a part of that team as well, and he's not acting like one.

i think that rcr does not have good equipment.
cause if they did harvick would do all the time.

Kevin

Kevin is definately not "happy" with his team. Richard Childress is a man among men, but a bit slow at times to catch up. Kevin should not have said all that crap on TV...but maybe he felt it was the only way his team would hear him. Kevin is a good driver and I like him...but frustration has set in...suspect he may be moving on.

I hope you're right. It was a good fit once it can be again. Frustration makes you say and do things you wouldn't normally do. I like kevin, great potential in him.

I don't like Harvick for obvious reasons (if it isn't obvious, check the sig :)), but you have to like the way he's just like; "Fuggit". He calls it like he sees it, the only difference between him and someone like Tony Stewart is Stewart has a Cup Championship, thus people gave him slack when he used to run his mouth, not to mention Tony's usually right. :)

Kevin's been dubbed a bit of a whiner, but so has Jimmie Johnson, and Greg Biffle. I think once you get that Championship people give you slack.
