Found out some inside info on what really happened with the Kurt Busch pre-race inspection fiasco yesterday.

For the last 4 weeks, Busch's team has been deliberately late getting through pre-race inspection. NASCAR warned the team not to be late again because those officials need to have lunch before the race and get ready for the race itself. Once again, Busch's team was the last one through the line yesterday. So after the car gets on the scales, the officials are told to go to lunch with the car sitting there. They have lunch and come back to find some things that need to be fixed, including the rear end. It was basically NASCAR's way of telling them don't be late any more.

Officials met with Roger Penske and told Penske what was going on. Supposedly, Penske had no problem with what took place and said the team will not be late for pre-race inspection again.

Thanks folks. How did I miss this?

They should have parked his pompous AZZ and excuse my french.

Prior to the start of the race, ESPN cameras caught Roger Penske and Mike Helton "discussing things". They cut away to some other stuff and came back just as Penske and Helton were parting. There was a warm handshake and a genuine smile from both parties.

Yeah, I'll be willing to bet that the 22 is FIRST in line next week! ;)

Just a bit confused here, was it the 22 team or Kurt's fault?
If it was Kurt than set him out, if not than fine the owner.

Ultimately it was Steve Addington the crew cheif of the 22's fault not Kurt's sounds like it's become a trend with them maybe some changes are in order.

Changes are in order because Kurt isn't going to stand being #2 to Brad.

Brad and Kurt have different racing styles. Brad tends to drive real smooth while Kurt can really wheel it around the track. They both have excellent car control, but Brads head is in the game at all times. He's also proving that he is better at setting the car up during the race. Wolfe adjusts off of Brads info, and it seems to get the car better as the race plays out.

I'm just going by the past 4 year's statistics.

If your going to do that maybe it would be a better comparison if you used Kurts first 2 1/2 years to Brads 2 1/2 years in Cup? Because Brads only been in Cup 2 1/2 years.

Here I used their average finsh's for the first 2 full years in Cup:
Kurt- 19.6 average finish
Brad- 18.5 average finish
Pretty close.

Yeah Brad is much calmer and more focused than Kurt is. You hear Kurt screaming and cussing every race but not brad. He has but not nearly as often.

Since Brad is only in his fourth full Cup year, I think it's only fair to compare the two drivers as they were with similar experience and as they are with overall current Cup experience. Kurt comes out on top either way.

My bad, you're right Brad is only in his 2nd full Cup season.

Keselowski ran 2 races in '08 and 15 in '09.

I know if I am a team owner and had the choice, I would put Brad in my car any day over Kurt Busch.....

Yeah, and like we have discussed in the Hamlin thread...look how all that is working out LOL

It has to burn a little for Hamlin to see Gordon and Johnson become friends with Brad, and Dale Jr saying how much he wants to help Brad throughout his career. Denny used to deal with Brad by lecturing him about how little he knows compared to him. Funny thing is, I could see Denny and Brad becoming good friends.
