This will probably be a long winded rant, I will try to get to the point as soon as possible. I am getting tired of the press portraying Kurt Bush as a problem driver and manipulating what happens to make a story out of nothing. I watched the Darlington race last night along with a big group here on the Forum. Quite a few of us saw a slower Truex blocking Kurt for too long, racing him hard and pinching him down..that was ok , hard racing, but then Truex cut him down twice and the second time he didn't have the room to do it and he hit Kurt and spun himself out. We all saw it, the boys in the booth saw it. Nobody in the booth or on here said Kurt was driving over his head, or believed Truex when he said "I was giving him the bottom". We knew different. Here is part of an article that Jeff Gluck .., who I have little respect for as a human, much less as a reporter:
Here is the Gluck's headline:
Tempers flare at Richmond over Kurt Busch's driving -- and decision making

Here is his take or twist if you will on what happened to Truex:

"On an earlier restart, Truex was running second when he was hooked by Busch on the straightaway.
"He just had us in a bad position and wouldn't let off the gas," Truex said. "...I ran him hard, I ran him tight, but I gave him plenty of room. He was driving in over his head trying to get a win, I guess."

did anybody watching here on the forum who saw Truex get spun think...Kurt hooked him??
I believe I would have said to Truex if I had a mike. "it looked like you cut down on Kurt, did your spotter say you were clear? Kurt' comment was "he put himself into a position to get spun"

It gets worse, Kenseth is next...you have to remember that if Kurt had said anything even close to these two comments about THEIR driving, it would have made headlines. Anyway here is Kenseth's statement. I have a clip of the finish below, if you watch it a few times closely you can see what Kenseth was upset about. Watch Tony Stewart trying to drive on "old tires" who is in the way. here is a Kenseth quote that Gluck posted: Honestly, do any of these press people have the constitution to go against the grain and try to report the truth instead of being a bunch of mindless hysterical harpies?

"Kenseth, who finished seventh after starting from the pole, was upset at Busch initially because of an incident on the final restart. Kenseth said Busch drove into Turn 1 wide open and "knocked the whole side off my car." So afterward, Kenseth "barely nudged him" to show his displeasure -- and Busch retaliated heavily.
"He just destroyed my car after the race," Kenseth said, glancing down toward Busch's hauler. "I think it's probably a good thing he didn't come down here, because my boys are going to have to fix it and they're not too happy."
Though Busch and Kenseth are typically friends, Kenseth said he had to show Busch he was unhappy after the restart incident and noted he hardly ever hits anyone. He was surprised Busch hit him several times and said "I guess it's too far just to come talk to me about it.
"If he's going to run you all over and clobber you, knock the whole side off your car, he's got to expect something back," Kenseth added. "I thought that was pretty mild.

Not only did Gluck get the facts from a one sided perspective, he inserted "barely nudged" in quotes like Kenseth actually said that, which I didn't hear Kenseth say that, and then he embellished even more when he said: "Bush retaliated heavily". It gets even more bizarre when he reports about Stewart..nothing about Tony running Bush down after the race and being the aggressor or running the restart on old slick tires, he didn't have anything Tony said after the race because Tony was smart enough to leave without any comments, but he has a supposed radio transmission from Tony to his Crew chief..I can't believe what this Gluck has to say, so who knows if that happened. Anyway I have a link to the article below, and a clip of the finish..see for yourself. I take press reporting with a grain of salt, they can lie cheat and steal and there isn't anyone holding them accountable. If you got this far, I thank you for taking the time to read my rant. Comments, for and against welcome.

Here is the clip I found of the finish on UTube.

yeah sorry about getting the race location wrong..glad to see the comments..I was hoping it wasn't just me. seems like any driver can say anything they want about Kurt and the press prints it. I couldn't find any press report today that didn't have a comment on Kurts "poor" driving. Pissed me off.

With you 100% standonit... Media is definitely full of ish and alot of these a-holes really shouldn't travel with the circuit.. They report their own damn race anyway, rarely is their "expert analysis" accurate.

I definitely think Truex caused his own spin. Like you said, even the announcers called it before it happened.;)

did you notice on the clip the Bush Kenseth "incident" where Bush ripped the whole side of Kenseth's car off...I am still looking.

I just made the mistake of looking at Jeff Gluck's twitter page. I can't believe how much praise people are giving him for his reporting. He's a tabloid journalist and people take his bull**** stories as the end all be all. Damn these people are dumb.

I have been a harsh critic of Kurt in the past, but I liked the way he raced last night.
He also conducted himself well on the cool down lap. If they dont want their cars roughed up they shouldn't instigate on the cool down lap.

Tony may be going through menopause, he isnt even performing well as an average driver this year.

isn't it something, like I think, America is getting dumber by the minute...scary when you think about it.o_O

I think the NASCAR media tries to create a lot of artificial drama that in reality just isn't there. There can't just be racing incidents anymore, there always has to be some kind of bad blood or underlying motive.

yeah look at their own commercials, cars flying, Joey throwing the bottle at Tony..and of course ..wait for it Toyoda..their outrageous penalties designed to keep the hype going.

What happened between Tony and Kurt isn't even a story. They bumped, traded paint a little and it was over.

yeah if you watch the clip, Tony was nothing but grease on his old tires, he was barely tapped and he slid and spun his tires and basically went no where but backwards..just Like A.J. who had slick tires. Tony took out his lack of performance on Kurt. I bet by Wednesday Tony would say he had slick tires, was hoping they would stick and they didn't. he does that a lot after he cools off. Couldn't be feeling too good about hitting Jimmy and screwing up his race either.
