Kentucky Speedway To Fix Wall Opening
Kentucky Speedway officials have announced that the track will install SAFER barriers to close an opening previously used by speedway fire and safety vehicles for access to the infield before the July 8 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at the track. The track is installing the system after Dr. Dean Sicking of the University of Nebraska Roadside Safety Facility recommended the addition following a wreck involving driver Jeff Fuller during the June 17 Busch Series race at the track. Kentucky Speedway had previously installed SAFER barriers inside the concrete retaining wall through turns 1 and 2 and also through turns 3 and 4 in 2005.(Scene Daily)
