The first two rows of Saturday's
ARCA Pennsylvania 200 at Pocono Raceway is a who's who of up-and-coming
drivers in stock car racing. First there is Kyle Busch, the hotshot little
brother of Winston Cup star Kurt Busch. Kyle smoked the field during time
trials Thursday by posting a time of 52.678 seconds (170.849 miles per
hour). Starting second is Winston Cup rookie Casey Mears, who will start on
the pole for today's ARCA Giant 200, which was postponed in June. Christian
Fittipaldi, the nephew of the great Indy Car driver Emerson Fittipaldi,
starts third.
"I just wanted to come out here and do well," Busch said. "Casey's pretty much our main competition here. He's strong in the ARCA series. We're just out here to have a good time and get some experience down." The 18-year-old Busch
looked like a veteran as he piloted his No. 87 Chevrolet around the 2.5 mile
Pocono Raceway to set a track record. - The Citizens' Voice
