Kyle Busch on lack of dramatic racing: Blame the air, engineers

This year’s Chase so far has failed to produce the drama and electricity that it has in the first two years of this format, and the racing so far hasn’t been as good as it was at the start of the season.

But don’t take my word for it.

Soon the cars will be shamelessly shaped like the Delta Wing with no spoilers at all, and they are still going to be scratching their heads.


Here's an idea, daylight under racecars. Mind boggling, I know.

There's a certain TuRD fan on here that might not be happy to hear that even his hero thinks the racing is not good.
I have to agree with Mr. Busch on this one

There has to be something done.
One of my old heroes, Chocolate, talks on the radio everyday and tells me that I'm crazy. "The racing is better today." NO IT IS NOT!!!!!!!! A freight train going around the track sucks! Sure, The cars are "equal". Sure. 40 cars finish on the lead lap. BUUUUUUTTTT. I know what I saw up until the 2000's. Give me 2 cars battling for win over 40 on the lead lap any day! Rant over

They should've just kept the rules package from 2014 and given them more horsepower.
 
I think the racing in Cup & Trucks is fine.

Xfinity is terrible and their cars and tapered spacer should be thrown in a dumpster.
 
I think 2017 is gonna provide a real test of how well team engineers can get back "lost" downforce through body engineering while remaining within the rules. If they can get it all back by the end of the year, despite the further reduced downforce, then NASCAR has to look hard beyond the spoiler and splitter for improving the racing. If not, we can keep the current car bodies for a while longer safely.
 
i told you all about the drop snout car in March but no one listened to me.

If this is true, and I think it is, the only way to "fix" it is to reduce race speeds.
