Kyle's going to lose a lot of respect if he keeps wrecking everybody for the win. It seems like he causes 3 or 4 wrecks in every Truck Series and Nationwide race.
I can think of at least 1 other driver that had a reputation or "rattling a few cages" and it didn't seem to cost him too many fans. As long as you win everything else will be forgiven...

There's a difference between Kyle and Dale, though.
I do remember Dale rattling cages, but I don't remember him wrecking up 3, 4, 5 cars a race. He had his moments, but he usually just gave a bump and run. Kyle, on the other hand, has a tendency to get impatient and flat wreck someone out.
Besides, Dale raced in Winston Cup. I have a problem with experienced Sprint Cup drivers going into Nationwide with top-notch equipment and wrecking out drivers that are there to gain experience with underfunded teams. Dale didn't do that, and I think that's Kyle's biggest downfall.
If he wants to wreck guys, beat and bang, he needs to do it with someone who's at the same level in experience and equipment, that's Sprint Cup. But, short of a few wins, he hasn't done much there and it's because he'd rather wreck the car than finish 2nd.
Believe it or not, Dale did smarten up, and he did take to realize you can't afford to wreck the car - and that's part of why he won 7 championships. Kyle compares to Dale in aggression and patience, but is nowhere near Dale's level in talent, experience and raw driving ability. He's one of the best drivers out there, but everytime I start to like him, he goes into some minor league race and causes a big crash.

I guess people have forgotten about when Earnhardt moved Bobby Hamilton to steal a win at Rockingham.

Andy, you should do a little more research rather than trying to rely on your own recollection of the facts. Dale Earnhardt did race Winston Cup, but he also race in the Grand National Series, later to become the Busch Series. But in the early days, the two series were very different and Dale picked and chose the races he wanted to race, and whether you believe it or not, his equipment was tops compared to the others. Dale Earnhardt earned his reputation and it wasn't because he bumped and ran past the other drivers. If you'd like, I can make a list of drivers that he wrecked to get by because he ran out of patience with them. While in his later years, he did tend to calm down a bit, but it was said that he wanted to get back to his old ways again so he could win another title.
