Like him or hate him, he is a gold mine for Nascar.

Kyle Busch Led NASCAR Drivers in Securing TV Exposure for Sponsors: #18-Kyle Busch's memorable 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series campaign led to $68 million of television exposure for his sponsors, a figure higher than any other driver managed to generate this past season, and nearly $1.7 million more than Series Champion Tony Stewart. According to research conducted by Joyce Julius & Associates, Inc. which has monitored every NASCAR race telecast over the last 27 seasons Busch's sponsors as a group appeared for 27 hours, 23 minutes, 10 seconds (27:23:10) during live and replayed telecasts of the season's 36 points races. When also factoring in verbal mentions (292) of Busch's sponsors, the 12th-place driver amassed more than $68.3 million of in-broadcast exposure value for his backing brands.

Anyone wonder why I say the media has a pro-Kyle bias now? More television time than the champion?

I'm sure at least 60% of that TV time came during FOX's package.

Because Kyle is great on the restarts, and until Stewart got hot, Kyle was at least tied for most wins.

He also like it or not, is a living drama. Kyle verses Harvick at Darlington, Kyle verses Papa Childress, Kyle verses Texas (not sure Mars suffered w/Texas, they actually got good press imo).

If you took a newbie or youngster to a race, and realized they were unable to follow the events in real time, just tell them to watch everything around the 18 car, he will be close to most of the big events.

Like Dale Sr., he is a big catalyst, and he owns the most love/hate.

Even compared to Stewart it is no brainier, until mid September his biggest 2011 moments was the Vickers/Sonoma incident, and the Lewis Hamilton gig.

Didn't Kryle get fined for the Darlington incident? And lose the respect of the whole garage?

And didn't Mr.Childress lay the Smacketh down upon the young Kryle's facial extremities?

And didn't Hornady show some class by being the better Champion?
And Kryle is by no means comprable to Dale Senior.
So, are you endorsing dickheadom as a way of racing? If so, look what happened to his brother.

Wait

1. I was and always will be a fan of Dale Sr, back to his days with Rod Osterland's car, and while Childress was still driving.

2. I am also a blue collar style RCR fan.

3. I am a Harvick fan too.

Comparing Kyle to Dale the driver, absolutely not. Dale was a 7 time champ, Kyle isn't.

Context is everything, and this is a media presence $tory, that would have to even give cred to Junior.

My comparison was about who is the dominant character , in short who gets the most combined love/hate.

It was Dale sr, and I miss those good times.

But now the guy most everybody loves, or loves to hate is Kyle.
That is an acknowledgment, and not necessarily am endorsement.

After Texas, I was in total agreement with the suspension.

Really ? I remember the old man Childress got a hefty fine for forgetting he's also an ambassador of the sport.
Kyle is the reason so many tune in to the races......and this is reflected by the sponsor exposure dollar figures posted.

With all that money Kryle's team should have bought Hornaday's team a new truck. Just sayin'...

In related news, among all active drivers in NASCAR's three top series, Danica Patrick leads the TV Exposure for Sponsors list even though she has only run a handful of races. Due to the media mentioning her and showing live video of her car at least once every two laps, sometimes twice a lap, she has garnered $48.48 Trillion of in-broadcast exposure value for her backing brands. ;)

Remember, Hornaday was driving for Harvick. If Pee Wee could have wrecked Harvick's truck, he would have...

As for Greg's comments, I will say that there was a time when Dale Sr had NOT won ANY Championships. Remember, Kyle is ONLY 26 years old!!!

Kyle is Money!

Harvick owned Hornaday's truck, so Pee Wee wrecked a truck owned by Harvick... Pee Wee should have been forced to pay for it.

People say he's a sponsors dream but you do remember his sponsor pulled themselves from his car for Homestead because of his ass like attitude.

Yep, many of us remember. Apparently, not all do.

It was for TWO races ! Big Whoop! And Interstate Batteries was ready, willing and able to put their colors on the car for those 2 races. Gibbs might have told them, "No Charge, Fellas!" but none-the-less, Pee Wee had sponsors on the car...

And BTW, when MARS/MMs stated that they would not be on the 18 for races 35 and 36, they also stated that they would be back with JGR, Kyle and the 18 in 2012.

Bob Parson's only wishes this was true.

In reality, just give it a year or two, and it might happen.

2 more races than most thought it would be.

Not to mention Tony learned how to do restarts from Kyle. At the 1st of the season Tony complained about Kyle's restarts, ("some people drive like maniacs on the restarts") until Tony made into the chase then he started restarting like Kyle did for most of the year by peddle to the medal restarts that won Tony the Championship.

Oh please Tony did'nt learn squat from shrubby, go back and watch some video of Tony in his midget/sprint car days and his early Cup years.....he's just been complacent the past few years....

I'm damn glad he got his Kick Ass Attitude back this season :D

The only thing Tony ever got from Kyle was mad. I have been watching Tony race for most of his life. NASCAR demoralized him to the point he had to change his driving style but the old Tony is now back.

Well, not the only thing he ever got from Kyle.

Do you mean Indy Car Champion Tony Stewart? Or the 4 time USAC champion Tony Stewart? The one who was racing when both the Busch babies were still in the proverbial marsupial pouch?
And the Busch guy showed him how to do restarts??Too much Eggnogg I think.
3 Championships says alot. More than any Busch babies will ever muster combined in their careers. Wait, one career is almost over, but Kurt's saving grace is a lone Championship, which was a gift.
Surely a start and park team will gobble him up,just for the Championship provisonal.
When the Smoke clears, Tony is standing proud... Eating a Whopper....
Keep the sponsors happy......

Someone archive this posting so that after Pee Wee wins his second championship (remember, he is only 26 years old) we can congratulate MM on his fortune-telling skills! :D

Smoke deserves everything he has achieved in racing, no doubt!
