Petty Enterprises taps Said after qualifying washed out

WATKINS GLEN, NY -- Boris Said went from another bad-luck day of rained-out qualifying Friday to landing a ride in the No. 45 Dodge to drive for Kyle Petty in the Centurion Boats at The Glen on Sunday.

Petty Enterprises asked Said to drive the car after qualifying was rained out. Said's No. 60 Ford was one of the cars that didn't have a guaranteed spot and needed to make the race on speed, so his car was out of the race.

But Said quickly learned he had other options. Along with the Petty offer, he also was asked by Yates Racing to replace Travis Kvapil in the No. 28 Ford.

That caused a dilemma for Said since his car is a Ford. But he decided it was better to accept the Pettys' offer to drive for them rather than replace Kvapil.

Thank you KP for giving a great driver and good man a chance to race. :beerbang:

We all know how much KP likes the RC's. I too applaud him for moving over.

from what i been hearing it doesnt sound like kyle will be racing that much longer, i been hearing he is looking for a veteran driver to drive his 2nd car, and he would drive a 3rd car the #45 for about 10 races next year. he also said he will have substitute drivers driving the #45 the remander of the year to try and get the car back to the top 35.

SaidHeads rejoice! It's going to be fun watching him run Sunday. Today he's in the 52 for Jimmy "Smut" Means. :beerbang:

Here's an idea.

the 45 needs a driver.

Boris wants to run ovals

Coleman need's another year in n'wide (i think)

put boris in the 45 for next year!

I think he has some kind of contract with ford. He had to get fords permission to drive the Dodge today.

Or you could put a driver in the car that wouldnt wreck it every week :beerbang:

I don't think this decision was entirely up to Kyle. I think Watkins Glen is one of his better tracks.
