Cause he just screwed himself out of a bunch of big Super Late Model races on the asphalt. Speed 51 said kyle has a contract stipulation that if he makes the chase he is not allowed to race his late model at all. So the Winchester 400 is out and the Snowball derby is scheduled the weekend of the banquet.


Maybe a mysterious illness and a sudden return of "Smoke Johnson" to the race track will happen about that time. LOL

Id rather watch the kid drive light and fast latemodels to the heavy steel things that NASCAR calls race cars.
 
Hmmm, national fame and big money vs. local fame and what money? I don't really think that he screwed himself.
 
I'm sure if he didn't mind it he wouldn't have agreed with Gibbs to put that in there. But I doubt he minds not being able to race there, since it means he made the chase.
 
While the contract may say something like that, it may mean that he can't race them "during the chase" only. Once the season's over he could probably carry on and race things like the snowball derby and others.

I'm sure he'll find a way to run The Snowball Derby.
 
Snowball derby is the night of the awards banquet they said.


Im sure he will go back to it after the chase. But he has to miss a couple high paying big Late model shows that he usually runs cause of it. With him paying most of the expenses out of his pocket i bet he is trying to pick up what ever he can for money. I know hes a millionaire and all that crap but it dont go far when your paying for most of your racing out of pocket with as much as he does.



Come to think of it i wonder if tony will be able to go run the knoxville nationals in the Dirt LM since hes in the chase. Im sure since he is the boss now. I know gibbs would get on him about that a couple years ago for it.

What I was thinking. Pretty much an easy decision on his part I think. Gee, what would I do? Lets see, lots of money, top series, title run for the cup, what I have striven to do since I was five years old or race some little league junk race that nobody cares about but the local hillbillies, possibly injure myself and keep me out of my real race car with the chase coming up and make maybe $2000? Gee, that's a tough one. I think I'll go with answer A, drive a real race car against real drivers and make more money than a lot of people see in a year.

Which is probably why Gibbs said no doing it if he makes the chase. And who could blame him? It's not like Gibbs is the 1st owner to put limits on what his driver can and can't do.
 
Hey there is a reason Tony goes and runs dirt as much as possible. Gotta get back to where the real racing is happening some time.
