You are sure right! It should have said Winston Cup, but I was only the messenger ;)

Na$car is trying to re-write the history books. They are officially calling all the championships Na$car Nextel Cup. As far as they are concerned theren was no Winston Cup. They did this when Winston came in and called the previous Grandnational championships, Winston Cup. Na$car is very bad abouit forgeting it's past.

They can call it what they wish. We fans know that Earnhardt and Petty are 7 time WINSTON CUP champions.

Actually, Richard Petty is a five-time Winston Cup champion. He won his first two championships when NASCAR was still Grand National.

Hell guys, as far as I'm concerned, they're all CHAMPIONS, no matter who the BS sponsor was....I mean, c'mon, as long as they're out there racing and living the dream, then it doesn't matter which corporation is plastered everywhere...we should just be glad that SOME company out there wants to support it....right?

I just feel that what the NASCAR guru's are trying to do is wrong!!!!!
Writing off Winston just to please this new sponsor is like kissing butt!!!!
And with this world's changing times, who's to say how long Nextel will last?????

If you check the article now, they have just written NASCAR champion, but yes, they still have written out Winston.
