While Nascar officials say no final decision has been made about the alignment of the 2004 Winston Cup schedule, its apperant that some people within the ranks of International Speedway Corp. know something about whats going on.
Several garage area sources have told the Observer that teams are being told it's safe to start making cooperate hospitality plans for a noght race at California Speedway on Labor Day weekend season.
That falls in line with reports that California will get the September weekend that Darlington's Southern 500 has occupied since 1950. There would be a Southern 500 in 2004 but it will be held in early November on the weekend now occupied by the fall race at North Carolina Speedway in Rockingham, which would be the track cut back from two dates to one.
