Okay, the talk of the NBA is that when his contract is over, King James will be moving to the Big Apple with the Knicks. Any pro basketball fans have a comment on this? Or, who cares?

The Knicks might want him but does Labron want the knicks? Cleveland will definitely be history. There are several big cities that can offer the promotional benefits he wants. Go Bulls! <g>

Just another overpaid athlete out to make a killing while he can. It sucks but that's what all pro leagues and athletes have turned the game into. You can't blame Labron for going with the money. He didn't create the system.

You can add college sports to that list also. In fact, the way college sports are now it would be better to do away the academic aspects for college teams and run them like independent semi-pro teams. For sale to the highest bidder.

Totally agree with you on all counts, but until we the public put a halt to entertainment, nothing is going to change. As for James, who knows. His home is near Cleveland and he's making plenty there. Big homes, etc, and to leave that, what for? But it seems the conscensus is that he will leave Cleveland and more than likely for the Knicks. I really couldn't give a squat, but it's big in the sporting news area. AND, his contract isn't up for another two years.

LeBron is not guaranteed to leave Cleveland in the summer of 2010. I hope he stays in Cleveland. He is from my hometown of Akron and he still lives here. You should see the house he is having built. I can't see him being beloved as much anywhere as he is here, being a hometown hero.

That being said, he will always be loved in Cleveland no matter if he leaves in two years or not. I for one, would still be a huge fan of his and still cheer for him if he left. He could certainly expand his popularity in a big market such as New York or Los Angeles by playing for one of those teams. Imagine the amount of jerseys alone they could sell with him going to the Knicks, Nets, Lakers, Clippers or Bulls.

I don't spend too much time thinking about it, but some people around here act like it is the end of the world or something. I feel pretty fortunate to have had the chance to see him play from high school to his first many years in the NBA. If he bolts, it would suck. But it wouldn't cancel any of that out.

From Akron eh? My ex-inlaws are from there and I used to visit the city often. Played golf on many of the public course and always enjoyed that. I also used to see the World Series of Golf at the Firestone from the inside. My brother-in-law did work for the tournament and as such, I would be able to go places the public normally isn't allowed. One year, while looking close up to the trophy, I almost caused a big accident! Won't even go there, but since all turned out okay, I'm still alive. :)

As for Labron, he definately is holding the cards and will go where he wants, if he wants to leave.

Yeah, I'm from Akron. I used to golf a lot back when my back would still let me. I worked for Firestone for several years at several company owned tire & service centers. I sold some tires to a guy who worked maintenance at the course where they held the PGA event. He gave me his card and told me to call him when I wanted to play on the course and he would set it up. I never did call him. I think I just felt like it would be wrong for as bad a golfer as I am to play on such hallowed ground.

There are some nice courses around here though. And many aren't too expensive at all. There are still plenty of places here that you can walk 9 holes for $10-15.

LeBron had some funny comments the other night on this. I've highlighted the funniest one. D'Antoni's line at the end was pretty funny too.

CLEVELAND -- LeBron James isn't bothered by the unending onslaught of questions about his free-agent future. He's sure his Cleveland Cavaliers teammates don't mind them either.

However, James thinks one team is tired of hearing about whether he'll end up in New York.

"It's a distraction for the Knicks," he said. "It's not a distraction for us -- we're good."

James' plans in two years -- he can hit the free-agent market on July 1, 2010 -- have become a daily topic in New York. The Knicks are 8-9 and have already made two trades this season to clear salary cap space so they can make a run at James, the biggest name in a stellar free-agent class that could include Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, Tracy McGrady, Steve Nash, Yao Ming, Dirk Nowitzki, Michael Redd and Ray Allen.

James has answered all the New York-related questions. He senses the Knicks are done with them.

"Players on their team, they don't want to hear about LeBron James or Chris Bosh coming to their team," he said Wednesday night before playing the Knicks. "It's a year and a half away, they got better things to do. For us, we're all right. It's not a problem for us."

James said he's not surprised that the future free agents are getting so much attention, given the All-Stars who make up the group.

He knows the questions aren't about to stop, so he's not going to ignore them.

"You give questions and you guys want us to answer them and when we don't answer them, you get mad," James said. "I've never said anything about being a Knick or being on any team in this league beside being here in Cleveland. I'll leave it at that, and we'll see what happens."

First-year Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni said his team has stayed together despite the trades, guard Stephon Marbury's messy situation and constant chatter about James.

"Our focus is great," he said. "We have solid, good guys in the locker room who are really pulling for each other. They listen. There are stretches when we've played really well. I'm looking forward to the day we have everybody together and see what we're missing."

D'Antoni was asked if everything surrounding the team has been a distraction.

"Not in the locker room," he said standing in a corridor inside Quicken Loans Arena. "Mostly out in the hallways, like right now."
