I dont know where to begin with this one, The four of us (Steve, Eric, Bruce and I) attended the Legends rematch race at Piedmont Fairgrounds in Spartanburg SC and the entire day was unbelieveable! We have never had so much fun and been so impressed with a day at the races! We are going to attend Rockingham in 2 weeks and I dont even care right now, that type of racing with the legends is so cool!!! I just finished the album with all the pictures 102 of them! and here is the link to see them.

Steve did most of the photography, I was so enthralled by all that was going on that I couldn't possibly have done as great a job as he did!

They expected around 2000 to 3000 people and ended up with over 6500.
Now you should try the Moonshine Festival down in Dawsonville, Ga next week-end.
Great pic's. I was on the infield at the Beer wagon when David hit the wall. Dropped my beer and tried to get a picture, but he pulled off before I could get set- up. Thought I had wasted a half cup of beer, but they gave me another one.

Hi, can you put the pictures somewhere where we don't need to enter our email address to see them?

Cool photos, DJFan. Glad you had a good time. :)

And I can't believe you got to see the General Lee race!! You did, didn't you? Pretty cool...

General Lee was only on Display they olny raced 40's models with Flatheads. But whats a car show in the South without a General Lee. Even had the right Horn sound (Dixie).

Havng just read thru the privacy policy of the photo site, and also the privacy policy of one of it's advertizing partners (24/7 Real Media) there is no way Garbonzoe Land that these folks are getting my email address.

Thru-out both policies the term "except as noted above" was used way too many times for my liking.

I have been a member of Snapfish for many months now and never had any trouble. They are one of the very few sites that will allow unlimited uploads and keep the pics available for up to a year without making a single purchase. Too many of them want something more than that to make their space available. Sorry you cant see them, we sure enjoyed taking them and sharing them with those that can.

Here's the Pearson wreck that #84NVRA was referring to:

It's not that I can't see them. I could see them if I chose to. Thing is, I go to great pains to protect my privacy on the net. When a website privacy policy sez it won't share my info "except as noted above" as many times as Snapfish and 24/7 Real Media does, the red flags go up.

While "Trust-E" certification looks good, it only certifies that the certificate holder has agreed to certain terms regarding disclosure of the use of personal info, not that the info will not be shared with companies whose sole purpose is to disseminate personal info.

Most every opt-in supposedly free service on the net has a hook, and in this case I ain't biting. Just way too much mumbo-jumbo in their privacy policy.

Understood!

Here's my favorite....I got to shake hand with a living legend, a few of them as a matter of fact!

I know I look awful, but that was after 7 hours of running around the fairgrounds....I felt GREAT!

That is such a cool thing to do DJfan. A photo to be treasured that's for sure.

Steve and I talked last night about the money that we put into attending Cup races. Compared to what we experienced Saturday it seems such a waste. The vintage cars are so much fun to watch, the drivers are so competitive yet seem to really enjoy every moment before, during and after the race. When Johnny Camby (sp) hit the wall in the first race he and his group were so disappointed (that happened right in front of where we were sitting) you could sure tell that he wanted for nothing more than to get back out there. I dont know if all the tracks let ya walk around and talk with the drivers and check out their cars but it was the icing on the cake for us!

pic is of Camby (the #0) in the wall in the first heat race.

My gosh that musta been fun......if only all you folks coulda raised the money for me to jet in for the weekend.....sigh....

The Bullring here in Vegas generally opens the pit gates for free after the end of the last race. Saturday Night Shootouts have been the lifeblood of stock car racing since it started. 12 bucks is what it cost to get in to the Bullring. Kids under 12 are free (guess they make it up at the concession stand). A Start/Finish preferred seat at the big track is like 180 or so (imposssible to get btw, I had em for the first Cup race but the computer broke or at least that was their excuse)....the cheapest seat in the house way out at the end of the back straight in the wooden bleachers is 58.

So yea, get yerself back to that shortie. Enjoy what it's really all about. And who knows, you might even have the pleasure of watching a future star grow up. It's cool:D
