I would rather spec engines but since they are not stock anyways, maybe I would like to see both. Let the drivers set the car up anyway they want.

I like what the ASA does with the mototr program but i would rather have them use there own manufacture motors!!

I think the templates are ok, but going to a spec engine for all the tracks would take away from the racing too much. A spec engine for the existing plate races might be a good idea if it were an engine without a restrictor plate! B)
 
The local Late Model tour uses spec engines, and they've done a much better job of improving competition and controlling costs than common templates ever will.
