Mebers of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band are highly drilled and trained musicians as well as ROTC students living under strict military direction, 24/7.
The Fightin' Texas Aggie Band is the largest military marching band in the United States. The band is famous for it's unique style of military precision drill and performs at each Aggie home football game in front of crowds exceeding 86,000. The band also travels and performs drills at many of the Big 12 conference away games. The band also participates in special events including the Presidential Inauguration Parade in Washington D.C., Corps Trip Parades, and other various dedications, and ceremonies.
The Aggie Band practices between 2-3 hours daily and in total 10-15 hours weekly in order to execute their marching drill. Over the course of one football season, the Aggie Band will have performed 8-12 individual marching drills; a different drill for each football game that the Aggie Band attends.
The infantry and artillery bands, which form the combined band, are the two largest units in the Corps of Cadets
Some of the Aggie Band's maneuvers are so complex that a computer says that it is impossible to do because they require two people to be in the same place at the same time .
The members of the Aggie Band are also members of the Corps of Cadets. Aggie Band members train, live, eat and are housed together as a unit of the corps.

No question the youngsters in high school drum and bugle corps work and train hard. At this level, the combined distractions of marching practice, maintaining specific grade point averages and dealing with military life are solid foundations and character builders.
And this for the Texans on the forum, or anyone else.
