If you were a car owner, had a huge sponsor, ( like Microsoft, IBM, or some other major dollar corp) and could pick any driver that currently doesn't have a ride.....who would it be and why????

I'd pick Johnny Benson. In the past, he's shown he can drive. He has an even temperment and projects a good image. I think he could do more is given the right opportunity and resources.

What do you think?

Tough one here...

I'll have to go with JB as well, but I might take a long shot on someone like Hank Parker Jr.

Is that, doesn't have a Cup ride, or doesn't have a ride period?

It can be either. [/b][/quote]
OK. Thanks. Teddy Musgrave.

I'd go with JB as my #1 pick, and Hank Parker Jr as #2. Both of these guys would be my pick for the same reasons.

Both very presentable for a sponser, both very popular with the fans, and both very good drivers given a really good opportunity.

Of course you know my answer!!!
JB all the way!!

But I agree with you Hank would be my second choice!

David Green. It's a shame he's too old now to take another stab at the Cup series. He's a solid, capable driver. Moreso than some of the Cup regulars we have now.

To OLD????

He still has some years left in him to race in cup and maybe win a cup.

Not too old by my standards, for damn sure.

Realistically, however, how many owners out there are looking for a 46 yr-old driver to pilot their full-time Cup ride?

Don't get me wrong. I'm a Green fan. I'm a believer in Green's talent. Nothing would please me more than to see him score a good Cup ride. I'm simply saying that those opportunities don't appear to be beating his door down, and it's a shame.
