one the 3ed one i mean. a 18 y/o kid can get a gun but if he uses it in a bad way he can never or for a long time buy anoter gun again.

this goes with any age groupes

Get rid of any gun that who's main purpose is hunting. I mean pistols and other guns used for killing humans. Then again someone will whine about wanting to use this kind of gun to hunt, too bad. Apparently seeing people with their heads blown off every night on TV is not enough. Personally I'm really sick of these gun owners crying about this. This won't ever happen, but I really wish it would.

Anything that will keep people from getting killed is good with me.

I voted "Don't Know" only because no matter how the Government tries to legislate gun control, we are still violating OUR right to bear arms.
Criminals will find a way to get weapons somehow and the radicals and terrorists will do the same.

Changing gun laws is NOT helping anything.

All the talk about gun control.:( Seems people who have no use for or some aversion to guns or weapons have no problems wanting control over those on the other side of the argument........even though it is quite clear in the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States that it IS a clearly defined right. From a Google search (it is not legaleze.......just plain language):

Amendment II

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Now from "The Oxford American Desk Dictionary and Thesaurus":

mi-li-tia /milisha/ n. military force, esp. one raised from the civil population and supplementing a regular army in an emergency.

Notice the comma after military force.....not a period which would define the word differently. I hear gun control proponents often stop after the first two words in the definition to state the case that regular civilians do not have the right to keep and bear arms. Seems quite clear to me that we DO have that right.........so any gun control laws are unconstitutional (illegal, violation of law, etc.). Go along with gun control and you are aiding and abetting law breaking. People need to wake up........gun control is against the law.

I didn't vote in the poll........the choice wasn't there for me which would have been remove gun control laws.

DEW, I couldn't agree more. Guns don't kill, PEOPLE do. And when are the radicals going to try and stop sales of knives, baseball bats, alchohol, cars, etc. Thank God we have our country and constitution, and leave "One nation under God" in the pledge, no matter what one's Faith or lack thereof.

Just for the record this is not me. I've gone hunting quite a few times in my life. My father is in the Military and has hunted his whole life. I've been around guns in my life. And the second amendment is outdated. That to me is painfully obvious. I just love the "our rights" line. No here has said you can't hunt. No here has said you can't have a gun. But go ahead with the propaganda  Should we get rid of needless guns and help control th streets? No, because Elmer wants to fire 10 rounds into a deer instead of a couple slugs!!

I can honestly say I have never heard of anyone using 10 rounds to kill a deer. I have never heard of anyone using a AR-15 to hunt with (which would be LEGAL). I have never heard of anyone using a full-auto MP-5 to hunt rabbits.

Washington D.C has a law that basically states that if you bring a gun into the District, you will be arrested, meaning that all guns are illegal in the District. But every night on the news, I hear of a shooting. Every morning in the paper I read about one or more people shot in Washington D.C.

Now, if guns are illegal in Washington D.C. how are all these people getting shot? Are the rounds coming across the bridge from Maryland? I doubt it.

The only way to "get rid" of all guns is for the Gov't to line up about 1,000,000,000 people, or however many it takes to line up people from the very northern tip of Maine, to the bottom tip of Florida. Now, these people need to stand shoulder-to-shoulder and carry metal dectors, and go one step at a time. You can't only search houses, you have to search every square inch of the country.

Even then, I don't know if they will find mine.

Bottom line, and like I said before, if this country would work more on changing the laws dealing with prosecuting the criminals that use guns illegally than trying to "get rid" of all guns, the U.S. might just be a better place.

We have already "gotten rid" of God........look at the shape we are in now.

You make some very valid points. I agree with you it would be very hard to get rid of these guns. You certainly could stop manufactoring, but getting them out of unwilling hands would be next to impossible. It is my opinoin however that many of these guns are not needed and I would like to see them try to prevent having them. And changing laws also is a good idea, but would that be enough?
