I have only gone a couple of times. After I move, I plan on going a lot.

Where do you go camping when you want to get away? Tell me, show me pictures. I am so excited to see where you all go.

I try to go to State or Federal Parks. Less expensive and normally in great locations.

I can post links later when I'm not mobile but there is a website for making reservations for both types of Parks. It's very informative about what each location has to offer.

I tried a 'provincial park' once. Linkletter, P.E.I. Could not leave fast enough. What a colossal ****hole. Beach? A disgusting mass of rotting seaweed (isn't it natural) swarming with flies. In the campground .. half a dozen tents near our camper had blue plastic tarps strung up in the trees over them. Obviously the tents weren't up to the task of keeping the rain out. They flapped all night long. It sounded like a mass attack of dragons. Speaking of dragons ... the pot fumes ... gag. And I'm there with a 3 year old and the missus. They wouldn't reimburse the 3 nights I'd paid for at the desk ... and I happily left the money behind just to get outta there. Fled to the uber clean, ultra friendly and secure KOA on the other side of the island and spent a happy week there. PEI did refund my money when I sent them a letter detailing why I'd left. Since then ... KOA or other large commercial campgrounds for me. If you want to sleep in the wild ... make sure that others are a good distance away.

We have 2 campers. One sits on 6 acres that we use almost always and then we have another one that we travel with.
Camping is a great time.
Work in progress so we can go rain or shine

I have tent camped in the winter and lived the life of luxury in a 5th wheel with a washer, dryer and dishwasher and everything in between. Over the years I have done a lot of motorcycle camping which forces you to carry only the essentials and/or buddy up with a fellow rider.

I have been in many provincial, state and county parks and I liked them better than the private offerings. I have also camped in many infields at race tracks and MIS was the best, IMO. I loved camping at Mid-Ohio during Vintage Motorcycle Days as I love motorcycles and you get to see so many of them.

If I had to pick my all time favorite it would be in the Manistee National Forrest near Mesick Michigan as it is quiet and there is no ambient light so the sky at night puts on a magnificent show. Also in May you can go mushroom hunting and have some of the best eating you will ever have.

Two sties that I use all the time for reservations. The first is for state and the second for federal.

My parents used to camp when I was growing up. We stayed in a pickup camper way back then. Later in life I started tenting. That was long ago. I then progressed through the list below.....

1999 - Bought a Coleman Popup Tent Trailer that included a shower/bathroom
2003 - Sold the Popup and moved to a 28' Jayco pull behind
2009 - Sold the Jayco and moved to a Palomino Saber 5er
2013 - Sold the 5er and moved to a Keystone Raptor Toy Hauler 5er
2016 - Thinking of taking the next step up to a Class A Motorhome - Entry Level.

Going to the RV show next month in Hershey, PA to check out all the new RV's Don't plan on doing anything for a year or two but at some point I will be upgrading.
