Let's Talk Kansas

I was watching football, flipped the race on and saw the rain delay. Did it ever start? Did anything significant happen?

BIG RAIN storm bearing down on the track..

From looking at the line of storms I'd say the race won't reach all the laps before it is called.. RUN Jeffy run!
Betsy;)

I'm getting a "Bad Gateway" message, so though I'd love to chat, it's quicker with a 2400 baud modem.

I kept getting the same message Buck. Wonder what that debris was that came from Smoke's car...

Good question, like where's the pic? :) But it obviously wasn't thought to be harmful to the other cars.

Any more "bad gateway" problems? I've been getting them for 2 days. :(

The rain is a comin! GO JEFF, GO! May the Rain Gods smile on you again! It's pouring right now, so Tony just may win (won;t hurt my feelings at all).

What a great call from Zippy. I was listening to Tony and when the others began to pit, he said "What'll I do dude?" I guess he should just stay out and win the race. And, I think that I'll dig out those old Tony t-shirts and begin to wear them again. I'd love to see Jeffy get another title, but another one for Tony wouldn't hurt my feelings either.

I'm looking at the radar and the line of wx is not that thick. Looking at how fast the wx is moving, I think the race can be restarted in 30 to 45 minutes.

Yeah radar does look like this shouldn't last too long. If they can't restart what a great gamble for the 20 team.

Could be, but it takes a while for the track to dry and who knows how long that will take. Looks like this shower is heavier than the first one and that one took 45 minutes.

I get tickled at the host of the show that haven't been fans of racing in the past, or at least weren't involved with racing until the network put them in front of the camera as a host. I have always liked Brent, but it's still hard for me to think of him other than a football guy. And with his talking about who's where and whatnot (my imitation of Carl from Slingblade) he seems to be surprised at how things can turn out. Of course all those other guys who have been around the top NASCAR series most of their lives, aren't surprised at anything.

So true about Brent, I'm woundering why the heck he's there. I do hope this thing restarts, it's been a good race so far.

Did anyone watch the F1 race in the pouring rain at Fuji last night? They needed wipers for their visors!

If they can't restart that was a great call by zippy. If they do get it restarted he goes from HERO TO ZERO.

Maybe its because he can relate to some of the drivers...in 2005:
ABC Sports' play-by-play man Brent Musburger was cited by Lincoln police Saturday evening for having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle and drinking from it, a police captain said Sunday.

;)

How long do you think they'll wait if they're gonna call it?

The rain is a small front line & nothing behind it. 15-20 minutes max & then drying the track. This thing isn't over...3 hours til sunset still.

Oh the old days with Bill Broderick. Believe it or not, he drove from Chicago to each race in his Corvette rather than fly.

Rains gone, dryers are out. Let's get the race going. Let's see Tony have his chance to drive back to the front, after he pits for fuel. It would be so funny if he runs out before he can pit...

#20 looks to be one of the top 3 cars so he shouldn't have too much trouble driving to the front.

Zippadelli said they have more than enough fuel to get around and back to the pits.

If it stays wet then Carl moves back to the third spot. (Where he was before he got hosed by NASCAR).
Too bad for the kid in the 5; Jr. runs out of talent again.

Looks like they will race.Doesn't seem like I missed too much. I spent the afternoon on Belew Lake and got home in time to see what is usually the best part of racing. What happened to kyle. :)

That's not exactly true. Junior put the bumper to Kyle going down the backstretch and it caused Kyle to loose control. Kyle then came down to the inside before his car then went up and smacked the wall.

Perhaps you didn't hear Kyle's interview.. He thinks Dale put him in the wall from what I heard him say.
Betsy

Perhaps you didn't see the incident. And when does it happen that a driver hits the wall and he doesn't blame it on someone saying that he was put into the wall. If anything, you could say that Jr spun Kyle out. But you say tomahto and I'll say tomato.

Junior just said he assumed Kyle was going to stay in the middle of the straight, so he gassed it to go on by. When Kyle drifted up a touch he couldn't get it slowed down.

Dale said it was therefore his fault.

I had to laugh at Truex ---- changed every stitch of clothing. :D

I was laughing when they asked him how difficult it is to wait around for the race to restart and he says he's got nothing better to do and that it beats working for a living.
