It fianally happened, a former champ missing a race because he couldn't use his provisional because another former champ, who had a later title, used the spot for himself. Elliott misses this race because Terry Labonte used the former champ provisional.

If you are talking about Kahne, he is not racing chassis #128, the car that won all five of his wins this year. He likes this chassis better.
