It was announced both Jim Beam and Jack Daniels are ending their sponsorships in NASCAR. Neither should be a surprise, especially Jack Daniels who seemed to be disappointed they were sponsoring Casey Mears instead of Clint Bowyer.

They'll be back. NASCAR is too attractive for marketing to ignore for long.

They're just disappointed that the drivers they sponsor suck. They wouldn't be leaving NASCAR if they were on Johnson or Gordon's hood.

Another sign of the economy. Companies are cutting unnecessary costs. There are very few companies that can afford to sponsor a Cup car for a season.

If anyone can afford to sponsor a Cup team it should be Jack Daniels.

Jack Daniels has a "market cap" of $4.5 billion as opposed to, say, an Office Depot of $1.7 Billion "market cap".

I agree they will be back. I would guess Robby Gordon will try to get Polaris to take the spots that Jim Beam is vacating.

I am still waiting for Jägermeister to co-sponsor the Red Bull cars, because I mean...has there ever been a more perfect(not to mention obvious) combination? I would even settle for a 3rd Red Bull car sponsored solely by Jägermeister, that way, if say Vickers and said 3rd car drafted at Talladega you could call the move the Jägerbomb. People have to pay for marketing like this and here I am giving it away for free.

I'm waiting for Captain Morgan to sponsor one of "The Captain's" cars.

:D

At least Crown Royal is still in the sport. After this season, I'm sure Matt Kenseth will be sampling some sponsor product.

Oh, I totally forgot about them! Plus I was thinking they had sponsored Jamie. Is the change to Matt after the end of the season?

How ironic I get to be "penpals" with a guy from JDR because my first note to them on their message board was a major complaint about Clint not being in the 07 car AND giving his whole crew to Casey. I never expected an answer back, but I did, decided to be nicer and ended up with a box of JDR racing stuff. :D I wrote to my "penpal" a couple of weeks ago asking him if it was true they were leaving and of course, I got the standard, "We're not sure what we're doing next year." I think they were probably as ticked as I was that Richard put Casey in that car! He told me they trusted Richard. Guess the trust ran out, eh? LOL :D

fan complaints probably drove jack daniels out of racing. it's your fault! <g>

am I the only one who finds it ironic that NASCAR is loosing the very thing it fought so hard to not allow in just a few short years ago???lol...... But yea, I bet if they were Gordon, JJ or the likes, they wouldnt be so quick to bail.......
Maybe they should pool their sponsorship like Spike said. I mean think about it..... Seegrams could go in with 7 Up...... Coke and Crown , V8 and Smirnoff, think of the chug points, oh wait...... maybe not......lol....

All the REAL likker companies (the ones that really started stock car racing) left Nascar a LONG time ago! Junior held on the longest but he decided to walk away too.

ROFL! I'm sure it had way more to do with less "bang" for their buck with Casey in the car! :D Besides, I started sucking up to them and writing encouraging things regarding Casey, esp. after they sent me free stuff.. wait, even before. Someone here told me to be nice to them because they invite people to things like annual picnics. I never did get that invite, but I got my JDR racing gear. I just pretended Casey was doing a SUPER JOB when he'd get a 15th finish. LOL

Didnt they sponsor one of Haas's cars a few years ago for a few races?
