Local National Guard got the call

I'm afraid there will lots more of that in the next few weeks.

Our unit is always one of the first to go. It is an Eng. Bat. They have to go build the roads and air fields.

Oh,great.Hey Tab,I think I saw them a little earier when they flew low ober the house.Sorry,I forgot to wave to them for you.haha
check out my thread a little too close.you'll know what I mean.

Just had an after work get together with a good friend who I work with. He just got activated and will be leaving in a couple of weeks.

Our boys went by truck and buses. They were given a nice parade out of town. There were a bunch of folks lining the streets to see them off.

I have question for everybody older then me......Do you think they will call a draft again?

Krystle

I don't think so.....would take a couple years to impliment. Unless of course we get invaded....then it would be implimented almost overnight.

Kristal, I don't see it any time soon. Could be years away, if ever. The only way I see a draft soon, would be if N. Korea did something stupid.

under emergency circumstances like us getting invaded.my vote would be yes.right now,no- too soon.Something is going down or should I say up,at the navy base by me.

I really think Bush would nuke somebody before it ever got far enough to necessitate a draft.

are you worried about someone getting drafted or yourself or just the draft in general?
guess if they do have a draft again, it shows the seriousness of all this..

:(

I am worried about someone getting drafted..........

A draft, if it becomes necessary would indicate something about our country that is rather unpleasant for me: The need for a draft would make it very evident that people who enjoy the life we have are not willing to stand up and help keep it that way. I hope we have gotten past that way of thinking........hated that about the 60's and 70's.

I really don't want to open a whole new can of worms here so that is all I'm going to say.

Thats true DE. Having to force people to fight for their own country and family is saying alot about this country.

I agree with the words DE, but who in the world would wanna fight for Bush?... Do I want to? Hell no, but would I if I had to? OH YEAH!! Gimme a gun, put me on the front line.. and lets rock 'n roll!!

You are not fighting for Bush, you *&^$% you would be fighting for America.

I can really see this thread going downhill fast, but if it wasn't for CLINTON, we wouldn't have to worry about a draft. He depleated the military so much we have to call up reserves.

Who runs the country dude? BUSH!!! In other words, your fighting under Bush for our country..

The point of my earlier post was about how many reserves are being activated, not about the President. Maybe I wasn't clear enough.

Tab,
Just to let you know,y'all made the newspaper by me.Saw the pictures too.I think Belle Chasse is next to go.

The draft: Forcing to people to fight? I'm not so sure I totally agree with you on this. For one reason only: I would go fight in a minute if there was a draft. But, joining the military is not my chosen profession. Dores that make any sense?
