Worst storms to hit us since 2004, and tornadoes are expected.

Local news has an election ticker, election updates every 5 minutes and election this election that.

So, instead of informing us about what we need to know about RIGHT NOW, which is the effing weather, they're blabbering about the election.

ARGH!!! So, if a tornado hits me tonight, only forwarning I get is what WeatherBug gives me.

This is total bs.

We had a record high of 64 or so degrees yesterday. Right now we're in the midst of an ice storm. It's coming down really hard and the worst was to start after midnight and it started at around 7pm. Our cars are covered in ice and look like they're covered in glass, with more to cover it. After 9am it's supposed to turn to snow. Lots of old trees in our yard ready to drop huge branches and fall on power lines, phone lines and cable lines. Hoping for the best, but we have our flashlights ready just in case.

Hope the tornados miss you, Andy.

I bet if the Race was on you would complain if the interrupted with the weather, wouldn't you. If the weather is bad enough they will interrupt anything.

Since when have they ever had continuing weather coverage? If the lightening scares you, pull your blankie over your eyes....

Not around here they won't.

Nothing serious happened this morning, but I was awakened overnight because we lost power. We have a generator so it didn't affect us, but half of Waldorf was without power for several hours. There are still a lot of power outages, lines down. Winds hit 50 mph last night. (This is all info from the frontlines, btw)

I turned on the local news for a recap of what happened regionally and they were talking about the election all morning long, so I'd assume there was no damage, no power outages or nothing of the kind from the 70mph winds they reported at the AWS station in Georgetown and Gaithersburg.

Completely irresponsible on their part. We've already been hit by one F5 tornado without any prior wrning from the local stations (minus channel 5, who had cut out of the race to deliver the essential information).

Well the last time I was thru your area these signs were everywhere. Have they taken them down?
