Local TV station reporting that Kansas City is out of the running for the NASCAR HOF

Sources indicated that it was due to a lack of private money. $30 million dollars short. The NBC affialiate KSHB-TV opened up their sports portion of the Newscast with it. They are indicating that the HOF will more then likely go to Charlotte.
 
woah...kinda surprised KC would be out of it...i really thought thats where it was going to go.

Charlotte is where it should be..or Daytona.

Sorry N2...i know how bad you wanted it up there.

Atlanta has made an incredible presentation to TPTB and the population here is in full support for HOF to come here.

I would prefer it to be Charlotte, but Atlanta is OK --- provided it is NOT downtown!!!! That is one place I do not drive --- I wind up lost every time. LOL
 
put it trackside or something... but charlotte or daytona gets my vote..but closer to charlotte..daytona already has daytona USA....

It needs to go to Daytona because thats where NASCAR originated, so thats where the Hall of Fame needs to go, but thats just my opinion. LETS GO RACIN!!

While it is true NASCAR originated in Daytona Beach, Charlotte is the center of the sport. Most shops are located so very close, having the HOF would make good sense. Besides, shops are great tourist attractions --- drawing great numbers. Most would probably visit a HOF, also.

IF it comes to ATLANTA the proposed building will be near the new Aquarium (world's largest) and Centennial Olympic Park. Plenty of parking AND public transportation.
AND, you can visit ME TRL! :D

Lets not forget, the first strictly stock race was held about a few miles from my office here in Charlotte.
