#24-Jeff Gordon was the driver who had the longest streak [and modern era record] without a DNF (did not finish) and starting all the races at 56 (his last was at Darlington in March 2001, 31 races + all 25 in 2002 until Richmond). Gordon DNF'd at Richmond on 9-7-2002 with engine problems. The all-time record is 84 races held by Herman Beam from April 30, 1961 thru March 10, 1963 (from the book - NASCAR Most Wanted by Jim McLaurin. The modern era [1972-present] record was held [Gordon broke it at Michigan] by the late great Dale Earnhardt at 53 races, from Indy in 1996 thru(including) Martinsville in the spring of 1998.(9-15-2002)
