Ward is in the #0.
Nemecheck is in the #01.
Andretti is the leading candidate for the #1 car.
Park was released by the #30 team.
Sauter is in the #27 in Busch.
Nadeau is doing the ABC plan for MB2.

If AOL didnt want Ward in the #30 because Ward isnt their target demographic, then Benson wont be in the #30 either.

AOL wants a young driver. Of the three ROTY candidates next year in the Nextel Cup (Wimmer, Riggs, Vickers) only Riggs doesnt have a ride.

Look for Riggs to go to the #30 AOL car. Makes sense.

And if Riggs doesnt pilot the #30, who will?

mmmmmm? Logical, but I hope Riggs doesn't end up there personally.
another one is getting away. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I think Riggs will be the primary candidate for the 30 car, but also I think he could still be in contention to be in the 1.

his name has also poped up in the 10 car which is what is having JB shopping around for the 30 43 and Second Call Wels team( #96? again)

I like Riggs, he has lots of talent and it'd be best spent in RCR, because Richard and company have done a good job mentoring up and coming drivers and turning them into great drivers.

That and Childress really has no choice, he needs to fill that vacancy in the 30 and there aren't any other young guys on the market and AOL is seeking an up and coming driver.

Now Jayski.com is reporting that Riggs is close to signing with the #10 MB2 Motorsports team.

Ashtion would be a good choice for a cup ride. HE seems to get over looked in the BGN, and is doing pretty well with a team that is family owned and with limited sponsorships.

Sounds like Riggs is in the #10 car nect year :(

Whoever goes to the 30 car will have to get along with or tolerate Harvick. Also that his team is number 1 in the RCR stable.

I think RCR could also look to these guys:

Ron Hornaday, he's not young, he's old but because he's in the #2 ACDelco BGN Chevy, Richard need not look far.

Johnny Benson will be out of the #10 Pontiac in 2004, he could be a candidate, but still he's not the young rookie AOL wants.

Michael Lewis, a sprint car driver is rumored to be making some Busch Series starts for RCR this year, and sharing the BGN ride with Kevin Harvick in 21 next year. He could be the guy for the job.

Matt Crafton, Craftsman Truck driver is said to be driving for Kevin Harvick in the Truck Series next year. Could he be thinking of making the switch to Busch Series or Winston Cup?

Paul Tracy, CART driver is rumored to be on the list, but it'd be a long shot to try and sign him.

Ashton Lewis, Busch Series driver could be up for the ride.

There's Hank Parker Jr, he hasnt been able to have a good ride but has had wins in the Busch Grand National Series.

Kerry Earnhardt, his name has been rumored to be on the list to get a Busch ride from Richard Childress. Could he be potentially a candidate for Cup also?

Richard Childress will most likely field a 4th team in 2004 (either the #90, #03 or #75?) so he has quite a bit of work to do when looking for the drivers to fill those spots.

Either that or Childress could ultimately scrap the #30 and just put all the focus and resources to the #29 and the #31.

The best option.
