Have my mom's and grannie's, too.  Some of the older ones are the best ones.

I know, the older cookbooks have the best recipes in them...love my grand'mas (both of them) cooking, I had the best of both worlds in grand'ma's..good ole italian cooking from my grand'ma on my moms side........and good good southern cooking from my dads mom...she was alabama born and raised and boy talk about good.................I love fried mush too......hmmmmmmm but hey,,NO OKRA for this girl..hahahhaa
but I had the best of both sides cooking........italian grand'ma was a native new yorker too......all that good new york type stuff..yummy.....makes my mouth drool now......:D

hahahhahaa just noticed that krispty kreme one, hahahhaa GOING TO FOR SURE CHECK THAT OUT...........:D

Taste of Home is local to me here in Wi. The recipes are from all over the country. Lots of regional comfort food and just plain good home cooking. They also have a lighter version for those watching calories. It is called Light and Tasty. I think they can be reached by going to the Taste of Home link.

good hope that was the right one........couldn't find it, but hope so............good magazine and good cook books too

I'm just in love with Baker's Catalogue. I savor every page like some men do Playboy!

Even when I don't buy anything, I've got to look at it. It must be a sickness. :cookoo:

The taste of Home people also put on cooking shows all over the country. I'm going to one Thursday. They give you a cookbook just for the show and they are great! They also have a quick cooking mag for those time rushed meals. I love them all. So does the hubby. I baked a chocolate cherry roll cake for him the other night! Also just picked up 2 brand new cookbooks at a yardsale. They are great!

I am really out of the loop with this Taste of Home deal. Don't know how I managed to miss this source entirely. :headshake

I just know I'm going to wind up buying all of their cookbooks. :p

oh yeah forgot about the quick cooking book, that is good too.......I had so many magazines, I had to go thur them and get recipes out i wanted to keep and still hated parting with the books, but got to be to much.........to many.........:(

Speaking of things you may not have seen (and that I just bought), here's the spread on Jeff Gordon in the latest GQ -- The Sports Issue. There are also pictures of Dale Jr., Jimmie Johnson (laying on a couch in his full gear!), and some annoying model dudes pretending to be race fans. Definitely worth buying, though. :D

:D :D
might have to go check out that magazine now.................

I've been getting the quick cooking magazine for almost two yrs. Just yesterday I sent out a subscription card for taste of home. I'm not very creative or good at cooking so quick cooking works best for me. I recently bought a BIG crock pot cooking book. I'm going to be trying that out when it gets a lil colder.
