Looking for a new PC

I have looked around for a new pc to replace my HP Pavilion 6535. It is pretty slow with it's Celeron processor. It seems like Dell has the best deals going right now. The Dell 2350 is going for $599 on dell.com. It comes with a Pentium 4 processor, 17" monitor, 256 memory, etc. I really don't want to spend more than that if I don't have to. I can actually get a new Dell 2350 on ebay for less than $400 without the monitor for the next 20 minutes or so. I already hav an HP 17" monitor I could keep if I go that route. I'm assuming I could probably get the same type deal later too as it is a company that buys these new and resells them. What do you guys think?

Have your own built at your local computer store, best way to go, you can get all you want for around 600-700, all the bells and whistles, and be able to upgrade! :D

Got a dell before Xmas. So far so good. Can be a pain if you need to do a system restore from backup CD's but then again, that's what tech support is for if you have troubles.

The Dimension 2350 seems like a pretty nice unit. Pentium 4, 256 ram, cd-rw, etc.

matters on what you want AMD or Pent. Speed or power? I have a compaq and it has not let me down yet.

You can go to Dell.com, compaq.com, hp.com and othere and shope around. Look for the most for the less, thats all I can say :p

i have a dell 4400 and an inspirion notebook....so far they both get a thumbs up!!

go through a local computer store and get it built custom, even though dell and gateway give you alot of options your still proabally not gonna get what you want to the point.

Oddly enough, I decided to just add some memory to my computer and see if that speeds it up and helps the freezing issues that tick me off. I used the money I saved by not buying a computer on tools. I bought a new air compressor today as well as a 1/2" air impact wrench, a 3/8" air ratchet, impact sockets, hoses and adapters, and a brad nailer. I am going to buy a finish nailer off of ebay. I just haven't decided exactly which one I really want. It will do at least 2.5" nails. But thanks for all the input. If I do decide to buy a new one after all, it definitely seems like it will be a Dell. I will try this first though.
