Hello Racing Forum Members,

I am new here to your forum, but did not know where else to look for guidance. Your forum was the first that showed up when searching Google. I am interested in purchasing a Dale Earnhardt Jr. driver suit from a dealer on eBay as a Christmas gift. I have never made a purchase of this magnitude before and I'm aware of horror stories regarding non-authentic items being sold on eBay. Does anyone here have experience in this kind of stuff? If so, can I get some opinions on this item:

Any help would be appreciated.

Looks legitimate but that price tag!

diecast crazy is a nascar collectables message board, search for it on google, its mostly for diecasts but maybe some people there would be more knowledgeable about race used stuff like that?

Yea, that price tag is nuts. For example, go to racingmetal.com, they sold a Ryan Newman Busch Series suit in there for $600. I realize that Newman isn't a Jr, but Jr's name doesn't add $9,400 to the value IMO.

Thank you to all of those who have responded so far. I will check Diecast Crazy and may even call or email Race Image and see if they can help. I know the suit is a little pricey but the Seller is willing to work with me and according to my Father-in-law, authentic driver suits of Dale Jr, specifically "Budweiser" ones are hard to come by. Although his opinion might be a little biased being that the Christmas gift is for him. LOL

..and the son-in-law of the year goes to...

I don't see the item description. Is it a real race fire suit or the pajama type they wear for sponsor obligations? I wonder because it's described as a 'driver suit UNIFORM'.

"This is an authentic 2003 Dale Earnhardt Jr. "Budweiser" Driver Firesuit (not a replica). The suit was made by ESparco for Dale Earnhardt Jr. and used in the 2003 season. The 2003 season was the last year of Winston Cup and was also Dale's highest placing finish in the series to date, where he finished 3rd in points. The suit is also autographed by Dale Earnhardt Jr. and comes with a Letter of Authenticity from GAI (Now Global Authentics), which is an Ebay approved autograph authentication company."

Despite my last post, looks legit. They have their own website and seem to have a wide selection of stuff with the photographs of all the same style (meaning, doesn't look like the images were ripped off from Google Images).

If you guys think the $10k price tag on the Dale Jr. uni was expensive check this out from the same seller:

Also, for the Gordo fans:
