Looks like Kentucky finally gets it.

Good news. I hate to turn my back on a southern original NASCAR track, but since we are adding another 1.5 miler let Atlanta loose 1 event. Kentucky is going to be a great addition to the circuit.

I hope it comes from Atlanta. Otherwise, think about how many races will be in that region- 2 from bristol, 2 from atlanta, 1 from kentucky, am I missing any? That's like the west coast- 2 fontana, 2 pheonix, vegas, and infineon.

2 from Charlotte and 2 from Talladega. All of those mentioned are within 4 hours of my house.

Mag it is a 4 hour drive from Bristol to Atlanta, so not really so close. As for kentucky that track is no where near Bristol. Closer to where Lappy is. I think Bruton is thinking NH because of the security cost for that track. They were talking about that the last NH race.

I think it is already a done deal that NH looses its' June date, there is supposedly an "Open Wheel Mania" weekend or something like that scheduled for the usual June Cup date next year.

I guess what is not close to one is different to another. Kentucky & Bristol are a little over 300 miles apart. Not all that far IMO. I travel more than that to most every track that I go to.

That sucks IMO. Even if they do take it from another 1.5 mile track, it still sucks. When is someone going to come up with an original idea for a change? All that being said, I'll probably still be in the stands there some day.

No, they will take one of the SMI tracks to fill this gap.

Most likely Atlanta or N.H.

From what it's looking like Atlanta and New Hampshire are losing a race; Kentucky becomes the first new track in NSCS since 2001 and Las Vegas gets the finale.

The IRL race is supposed to be on JULY 31st, the week before the Inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix. Unless this is something different they're planning.

2 races at Martinsville.

It's still around 4hrs from me if not more.

Who cares about the proximity of tracks to each other. Kentucky will be far better racing than Atlanta, New Hampshire, California and Indy combined.

What i heard and read were two different things. The weekend of the usual June Cup date they were talking about an Open Wheel weekend, Mods, possibly Supers, and Indy type cars. Now I read that the IRL race is on the 31st , like you said, so i guess we will just have to wait for the announcement. Personally I wouldn't go to NHIS to watch anything other than the Mods or the Trucks. The Cup and Nationwide guys don't put on that great a show there.
