Looks like Sadler is leaving Childress.

More Childress...More Childress, on struggles with Cup cars: "Sometime you have to wonder exactly what you are running against"

Sounds like a shot at the competition.

Richard gave him a chance when nobody would. I guess he'd rather be a nobody like he's used to in Cup then be winning NNS races and having a shot at titles. Seems smart to me:confused:

Bob Dillner said he's headed to JGR for a full time NNS ride next year. Jeff Hammond said right after that it's because Logano is going to Penske so he won't be in the NNS car for Gibbs - obviously.

If so, it's a smart move. those are the best cars in nationwide, and he has to know his RCR days are numbered. I'm not sure it makes sense from the Logano standpoint, because he doesn't run the full NW season now.

Harvick gave him that chance and Richard held onto him when he absorbed Harvicks team. Also it could have been Sadler turning heads in the 55 and not Vickers if Richard didnt squash that deal. i am sure there was no bad blood there.

I like Richard Childress but I think Harvicks also needs to move on when he contract is up, he ain't family.

I can only think of two times Elliott turned heads in Cup. Both at Talladega too:D

Childress' focus right now is his grandson. Sadler knows that. Could be both Dillon boys will be in NNS next year leaving Sadler out.

Sadler is having one of his better years. Menard isn't going anywhere as long a dear ol' dad is footing the bill. Burton is about to throw in the towel and retire. I give Harvick a lot of credit for stepping up when Sr passed . Had to be a byitch to step into a icon's car. But he really hasn't performed. Maybe this contract with RCR is his last.
Sadler must see the writing on the wall, the Dillon bros will be in RCR's nnw then cup cars when Burton and Harvick leave.
Sadler won't be moving up. Blood is thicker than the ink on a contract....

What ink , what contract ? Childress inherited Sadler from the old KHI . I doubt that he was ever in Childress' plans for the future and Sadler is jumping ship . His right . Hope he can build a future with the new team.

Sadler said on Race Hub that he and Richard are of the same mind-set when it comes to this season: CHAMPIONSHIP

He also said that he did not receive any offers from Childress for returning to the team.

A Championship in N'wide this year would certainly make him much more marketable for next year!! His stock has risen anyway, I would think. Except for his advanced age (37) he's got a lot going for him right now!

lets get back on topic guys.

So it was stated in the Kenseth press conference that they wanted Joey to take a full time NNS ride with partial cup schedule. This looks like the exact deal Sadler is taking. I am guess JGR already has their ducks in a row on this deal. It was probably all set up for Joey and when he chose to go to Penske it left JGR with a need for a driver. I am actually kind of disappointed with this decision. JGR should have gave the ride to either Michael McDowell or Ryan Truex.

I am thinking Papa is pacing the floor in Welcome NC, so mad he has to take off the Jewelry.

Papas mad cause he likes making the rules, and after all he was giving Elliott a car good enough to lead the points. He wasn't ever gonna give him a cup car that is reserved for the boys but he believed he was being fair otherwise.

Elliott beat him to the sucker punch, and is leaving with a sponsor before he is no longer useful. Papa can't take a punch at him, but now has doesn't have much interest in seeing Sadler being the 2012 NWS champion . So now he doesn't even have to pretend, Austin will get the best equipment, Elliott will be given adequate cars after it is clear that Austin's backup car doesn't need the parts.

Elliott will not win the 2012 title.

I agree with you. Micheal McDowell has done a good job in NNS for JGR and would've been a good fit for a part time Cup effort also. Ryan Truex too. I like to see the guys that haven't had their shot get one, especially in the NNS.

Sadler has his own sponser, One main, and he's taking them with him. He says he doen't know where he'll end up, but don't rule out a 3rd Penske NW car.

UPDATE: Appearing Monday night on SPEED's Race Hub, Elliott Sadler confirmed he would not be back with Richard Childress Racing in 2013. He said he had not been offered an opportunity to stay at Childress next season and that he does not yet have a deal with a team for next year.(9-4-2012)
