Now that Kyle Busch is on the backside of the slope, Nascar is looking at freeing up more race for the drivers to race in other series.

That's a head scratcher. The Xfinity series is doing very well without Bushwackers. I like it the way it currently is, although I'll admit I mostly watch the Cup races.

Xfinity series should be for developing drivers and journeymen drivers that can't find a ride in Cup, in my opinion.

Things are perfect as they are. We have a nice blend of Xfinity/Truck regulars and Cup driver one-offs. With its own TV network and not being Cup-lite like it was for years, the Xfinity series finally has its own identity again.
I believe that is what they said when they restricted the cuppers, it would give Xfinity their own identity instead of cup light. It worked perfectly, so now we are bored? Or tells us some B.S. like this is what the fans want?

I would have loved to see Rowdy win all three championshios in the same year. I think he could have done it. I hope the rule goes away.

Pure BS, Nascar showing how they use strong arm tactics to get what they want. Everybody WILL like this car and LIKE the playoffs or we are CONSIDERING to do this (in your face, fans). Just imagine what they presented to the teams on charters. Kinda like the old saying, "the beatings will continue until the moral gets better." Do you really think Nascar would take a chance of a possibility of a winless Champion again in the lower levels. It's also a narrative shift from the lawsuit, the car, and the playoffs discussions going on now. Look here not over there.

Calm down Sparky. So far they let is slip out they were thinking about it. If they read their web mail it's pretty easy to see this wouldn't be a popular move.

All you have to do is click on the piece and read the 39 comments. It isn't popular. Does that mean we will get it anyway? My worse guess is that they will give them more races. But it won't be popular.

Here's a nice graphic showing why we had this rule.

If that would be the case I would think they would have problems getting enough cars and teams to hold a race.

Makes me wonder if the majority of Xfinity teams are in trouble with money, that they need bigger names to pull in bigger sponsor $$$.
Charters have made it difficult to run the NEMCO model, a sacrificial Cup car to fund the Xfinity ride.

Sponsorship and TV. Thank you and have a nice day. The minor league has a big league television contract. The TV folks want a return, and in order to get that, you have to have bigger names. Those names require the sponsorship.

And like before, they will run it into the ground making it Cup light.

So old timer cuppers get 5 races, newer in series Cup drivers get 7 races I believe it goes. So why would they be talking about giving them more races? More money pay out? OEM's want it? Sponsors because of the much better ratings they are pulling in? And of course the elephants in the room, the networks think it would be a good idea? I don't see the fans all excited about it from what I have read about it.

The attached 30 secound video demonstates what will happen

There's no benefit for Major Cup teams to run multiple Xfinity races anymore. I don't know why this is even an issue.
$$$$$

The benefit is to those X teams with Cup affiliation, enough cars to run one for a mix of mostly Cup drivers, and sponsors willing to pay extra for those Cuppers. In other words (as has already been pointed out), JGR, JRM, and maybe a couple of others.

It is good to have one or two Cup drivers running in the other series so the future Cup drivers can gauge their skills. There was a period when the Cup drivers took over the Xfinity series which limited rides for young drivers to get experience. I think the lack of Cup practice is one reason Cup drivers want to run Xfinity; they say the cars are different (they are) but a good driver can learn the track conditions and apply them to their Cup car.

True, but I think it can be more of a hindrance to drive an Xfinity car now days to try to gain some advantage for the Cup race the next day than it was with the old truck arm Cup car. The aero is completely different, the tires many times are different compounds than the Cup cars use.
I'm with you though, I'm perfectly fine with Cup drivers showing up occasionally at Xfinity races, but not like it was with them showing up every race.
