Loudon Race Thread

This is rediculous, and now Robby is gonna be black flagged in my book

God forbid anybody outside of the top 10 race now...

Nascar is gonna go to isht with this stupid race to the championship crap.

Robby was an azz and don't try to excuse his actions....this is not the time to intentionaly "payback" Biffle and end up wrecking two in the chase (Mayfield and Stewart)

wow, that's a pretty good attitude...I guess positions 11-?? really shouldn't show up if fans with top ten drivers are going to act that way...I mean, if you don't want the top ten to get into trouble, maybe they should race separately, the guys going for 11th certainly wouldn't want to get wrecked out by someone going for the cup either, but no one would ever see it that way now, would they?

I agree that Robby was wrong to payback Biffle at that point and time, but still, they threatened to park Jimmy Spencer last week for that incident with Casey Mears.

Whats the message Nascar is sending? Positions 11-43 dont matter, if youre in the way of the chase for the championship guys, you will be parked. Why even show up to race? Seriously, this chase for the championship will be the end of Nascar, they are digging themselves their own grave with this.

"they threatened to park Jimmy Spencer last week for that incident with Casey Mears."

They said they were reviewing what Spencer did to determine if it warranted punishment. It didn't, so they didn't.

Fact is they are threatening to park drivers... why bother show up if you cant even race?

First you get pissed at Robby for spinning out Biffle, who took out other drivers, (which I will agree was idiotic), but now you praise Marlin for taking Robby out?

Wish no harm blah, blah, blah...?

When Robby said it over the radio that he was gonna get him wasn't to smart.
I get the feeling he just sealed the deal for next year. and he won't be back in the 31 car.

THANK YOU STERLING!!!!!!!

Edited by RobbyG Fan...

Two drivers did the same thing, cause a caution, and you praise one and lowball the other?

Riiiiiiiiiiiight.

Let's keep to the subject of this thread, the Loudon race. NOT name calling. And that goes for ALL of you folks!

Now, as for what has transpired so far in the race, Robby Gordon's payback was definitely not a smart move. Especially when he was overheard saying "I'll get him" over his radio. As for the response from Richard Childress, what did you expect? Him to say "Yep, he's a dumbass" for doing something that stupid??? Maybe later. I was also quite impressed witht he interview with Tony Stewart, and how he handled the situation. Not exactly a whole lot he can do, except hope that his luck is better in the last 9 races. Jeremy was also calmer than I expected him to be, too. I guess knowing that you can't finish any lower than 10th place is of some comfort.

As to the incident involving Sterling and Robby, well it looked to me like Robby scooted up the race track and into the front of Sterling's car. Just my opinion, tho', yours will most certainly be different. Or, not.

Carry on, but without the name calling.

Anyways... as much as I dont like this chase for the championship crap, anyone else think the chase for the championship guys should be scored against each other instead of against the rest of the field?

As far as Sterling and Robby's incident, Sterling never had the high line, he was behind Robby the whole time, Sterling just booted him coming off the corner.

You say potatoe, I say tater.

I'd respond if I understood exactly what you are trying to say. With the exception of, NO, I still don't like this C4C crap either.

Like what I was thinking was say the C4C drivers get scored against each other. Take today for example, Mayfield will probably be the 9th out of the 10 C4C and Stewart will be the 10th out of the 10 C4C drivers. Instead of them being given only around 50 something points for finishing in the 30's, the points are awarded based on how they performed against the other C4C drivers.

So say like this (only for C4C drivers only):
1 out of 10 = 180 points
2 out of 10 = 165 points
3/10 = 150
and so on...

The way this stupid thing is setup, a driver can win 8 of the final 10 races and finish last the other 2 races and they would lose the championship to a driver who rides around in 15th every race.

That's what I was thinking you were saying, but I wanted to be absolutely certain. I think it would make more sense to do so, but that's not Nascar's forte. They don't do a whole lot of things that make a whole lot of sense sometimes.

Oh boy...talk about complicated!!

Let's see, the last guy in the Chase finishes 10th. Using your 15 point reduction per position (against the other drivers in the Chase) that driver would get only 60 points!! The last driver (among all the "others") of the race gets 34!! Yeah, I guess that's fair!! It's resembles a certain tax code to me.........."those guys can afford it"!! :D

Simple solutions are usually just that........."simple"!! :) More thought than y'all might believe went into this new system. It will most likely be tweaked. But breaking out the drivers in the Chase and using some separate way to score them is not a tweak we will likely see!! :)

And, if y'all didn't notice, Robby was not parked..........only penalized two laps. Pretty small considering he intentionally and blatantly attempted to take Biffle out. But, I would say a very good argument could be made that Sterling Marlin should have recieved a couple lap penalty too. The way I saw it, Sterling took aim on Robby when Robby got loose. It sure looked to me that Marlin was headed down the banking but then altered his line to punt Robby.

Edited because I did my math wrong!! :XXROFL:

Well the points I wrote down were just to show as an example. It can be 15 between each driver, although 10 or 5 would be better. Still, I just think scoring the top 10 amongst themselves would be better than what we have now.
