Lucky dog

I know this may rile up Gordon fans (sorry) but I think the lucky dog should be given only to cars 1 lap down. That's why they made it wasnt it ?? Anyone over a lap down should just suck it up and try to earn it back the old fashion way instead of layin low and getting 4 laps back the easy way.. Just my opinion anyways!!

Get rid of it all together would be the best thing to do, make everyone earn it back the right way.

I believe that when he got those lucky dog passes he was the only car 1 or more laps down, still on the race track. Please correct me if I'm wrong. :beerbang:

Hmmm, four posts and they all agree. Let's make this five. Get rid of it!

Sorry, now Maj has posted and sitting on the fence it seems. :)

yes, he was the only non-lead lap car on the track.

Sorry, buck. I really don't care for the lucky dog either. I was mainly just posting a statement, and asking for clarification if it wasn't correct.

I appologize if my info was incorrect.. but i could have swarn he was down quite a few laps then all of the sudden he was back up.. I too would love to get rid of the rule..its really confusing ..Obviously!!

Jeff got the lucky dog because he was in the only one any laps down. Skinner got a lap back b4 Jeff, because the timing of the yellow and were everyone was running.

He was 3 laps down, and got 3 lucky dogs.

ok now when he got his first lap back why did he get to pit with the lead lap cars? I thought i was seeing things so i had to replay it and i saw him, he was 4th in line

when you go into the pits..you have to line to single file, doesn't matter if you're lapped..it all depends where you are, at that point.

The VERY FIRST caution was a competition caution. ALL cars pitted at that time.

I thought when the pits open only the lead lap cars can pit then when they are done everone else can pit, even when the luckydog gets back on the lead lap he has to pit with the cars not on the lead lap.

This is true with a couple of exceptions. When they have a competition caution, they all can pit. The other exception is what they call a short caution, usually near the end of the race and all cars can stop at the same time. All other times, unless it's a red flag, the lead lap cars pit on the first lap of the open pit and the others can pit on the following lap.
