M*A*S*H: 30th Anniversary Reunion

8:00 PM FOX Friday, 27

120 min.
It debuted Sept. 17, 1972---not quite 30 years ago, but why quibble? This two-hour clips-and-reminiscences salute to MASH (ranked No. 25 on TV GUIDE's recent list of the 50 Greatest Shows of All Time) reunites cast members Alan Alda, Mike Farrell, Wayne Rogers, Loretta Swit, Gary Burghoff, Harry Morgan, Jamie Farr, David Ogden Stiers, William Christopher and Allan Arbus, as well as producers Gene Reynolds, Larry Gelbart and Burt Metcalfe. Among the expected clips: the debut and the 1983 finale (still the top-rated prime-time show ever), plus Henry Blake's shocking departure (1975); a 1976 black-and-white episode in which characters simply talk about war; and a 1973 episode in which Hawkeye receives a visit from an old friend. It's a joyful reunion---until bullets fly. (VCR Plus+ 4131805)

I never missed MASH. My favorite show of all-time.

Thanks for the reminder. Guess I'll have 2 TVs going tonight. One for MASH, the other for the CASCAR race.

:)

If I am channel surffing and I run across M.A.S.H. I have to stop and watch it. One of my altime favorite shows.

Love that show and while I probably only saw a hand full of the shows when they were in series, I've seen them all many times since. I used to watch the show every night at 10:30 back where I lived in Iowa. It was fun to watch the series grow and change. When it ended, it was nothing like the original which was nothing like the movie which was nothing like the book. Loved all three. If you read the book, remember the line..."skinner back Mac!" :D

guess I am an oddball.............I never liked m a MASH in the 70's and know i wouldn't like it now.......:(

It is when surgery is done in a hurry, sloppily, with a lesser degree of technical expertise or experience. It can also be called a half-azzed job. Docs who do it, just want to get through it. This can happen for many reasons. Most often it is because they are tired, or have someplace else to go, or have just to much work.

Don't get me wrong. The patient's still do well, it's just that things don't go as smoothly as they could.

in a rush job like that, hope they put all the pieces back in the right places now..hahahhahaa:D :D :D

ok great.thanks for explaining it to me:)

the doctors had little choice in Korea, there were usually too many patients to deal with at once after a battle- so they had to rush, pick and choose how to treat each soldier so they could be transported alive if possible to a real hospital for proper treatment......

Holy cow, I didn't mean to get into a whole big deal with the meatball surgery thing. It's just that Alan Alda said that in just about every episode. Butttt, how many people know what the "skinner back Mac" thing was about? :)
