Here kitty, kitty, kitty
Just finished watching the last episode of Madhouse. Once again, it was edited to make things look what they weren't. The fight between Chris Fleming and Brad Robbins happened at an earlier date. You may remember when the "Show Stopper" threatened to never come back to BGS.
It was funny to watch how Junior and Jon Boy handled the stadium parking Junior's black car. Just goes to show you just how determined Junior Miller is to wreck a Myers car. I don't understand why he doesn't just come out and say that he'd like to kill one or both of them. But of course, much of what he says on camera is just for the cameras. Same for Jonathan Brown. Jon Boy is for sure an up and coming driver and though he has always been an aggressive driver, that's what it takes at the stadium.
My wife is a huge Tim Brown fan and she gets kinda ticked when I criticize Tim, but she knows that Tim is all about winning the championship and not the race. I think that you can see the difference between Tim and Burt in that sense. One thing that I got a big chuckle out of is when Tim talked about having a second car out there to block/take out another car. I guess he forgot what he did about four years ago. Tim was so upset at the Myers because at that time, Gary Myers was still in the #1 car and Tim thought he was blocking for Burt...which probably was as far fetched as first thought. Anyway, Tim brought a second car to the track, #84 and hired Zack Brewer to race it. Zack is a good driver and jumped at the chance. However, during the race, Tim told Zack to take Burt out of the race. Zack refused and two laps later took his car to the pits and parked it. Tim never again fielded a second car.
The season at the stadium starts in a couple of weeks and we are getting really excited. Burt traveled up to Thompson Speedway this past weekend and qualified 5th against the big boys up there. Had a problem in the pits, but still finished 14th. I understand that the people up there gave him a great reception because of the show. Burt said that any time the schedule down south allows him, he will travel up north to race against the guys again. There is no question that Madhouse has created a bigger fan base for the modified cars, especially down here in the south. I expect the opener to be crammed full of people, not that it usually isn't. Standing room only will be the thing of the night, and the stadium will seat 15,000 or more people. If any of you have never been to a modified race before, see if there are any near you. Of course the biggest and best are either from New England or down here in the south, but even where there are other modified races, they are surely to be great...even dirt mods.
